World's oldest religion discovered in Botswana

On this six meters long by two meter high stone, which resembles a python, researchers found 300-400 indentations that must have been made by humans.

afrol News, 1 December - Archaeologists have discovered what seems to be remains of the world's earliest religious worship site in the remote Ngamiland region of Botswana. Here, our ancestors performed advanced rituals, worshipping the python some 70,000 years ago. The sensational discovery strengthens Africa's position as the cradle of modern man.

The new archaeological findings in Botswana show that our ancestors in Africa engaged in ritual practice 70,000 years ago - some 30,000 years earlier than the oldest findings in Europe.

I never believe scientific dating.... not since they discovered that they had stars dated older than they dated the universe, and a living molusk was dated over 3,000 years old.

I like the line about this strengthening Africa's position as "the cradle of modern man" in spite of the fact that it wouldn't include Caucasians or Natives of the Americas, or a few other races of people.

The Biblical account of Adam & Eve makes more sense given genetics and a dispersion of people from there. No one ever recorded a movement of people out of Africa did they? Jr. High science courses explain the simple genetic theory of how all races could have descended from two people who had perfectly balanced dominant and recessive genes.

All this showed is a stone python. They assume it was worshiped, when in fact people carve many things as a form of art. Maybe it was worshiped and maybe it wasn't. They weren't there and they choose how they will interpret archealogical finds. Often the interpretation is not objective and is nothing more than an assumption.

I'm not bent out of shape. This stuff happens all the time. There is no proven method of dating things, yet they continue to use methods that have been proven wrong, unwilling to admit their theories are questionable.

Best Wishes to the gullible,

Sue

Egoism source ask Adam and Eve some forbidden fruit. For genuine its the two Hinduism, Judaism, Jainism or Zoroastrianism for contemporary oldest nevertheless practising faith (there have been some previously yet they have died out) those are the right 4 for oldest residing ones all others branch out from a style of four or are a mix of those 4 or a mix of one of those plus a small enthnic faith. all of them initiate someplace around the comparable time and the only source for each of them is them; so we can't be completely particular which replaced into actual first as there are all their very own source. you need to declare Paganism yet it relatively is actual all small tribal/interior sight religions getting lumped mutually because of fact they do no longer in high quality condition into the two Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism that have been the dominant ones whilst the thought of Pagans got here out. maximum up-to-date is Pastafarianism
