Most eye twiches are pretty harmless. They are usually involuntary spasms of the little muscles which surround the eye. Some causes are fatigue, squinting a lot, drinking too much caffeine, or working in a less than ideal visual environment, for example, if your job requires you to look at a computer or a tv screen all day. Just like a muscle spasm at any other part of the body, an eye twitch can mean you've over worked your muscles and you may want to give them a little rest. There are some home treatments that may help you out including a hot bath, putting a warm washcloth over your eye, rinsing your eye out with warm water, or using some eye drops.

stress can have a lot to do with it. Otherwise you my have a nerve / muscle spasm causing the eyelid to twitch. Probably should go see a doctor about that- esp.ly since it's so close to your eye. Esp.ly if it keeps happening and it's causing you to lose focus of daily actitivies.

I had that too, and mine was from stress but I didn't know it at the time. As soon as I left the job I had, it went away. Immediately! Thank God!! What might be stressing you out in your life?
