Yes, it will grow like that. I take care of a 5 year old girl whose father takes care of him. Bless his soul for taking on the full responsibilty of her, but she often comes to my house just out of the bath and her father combs here hair straight back, bangs and all. As it dries it eventually falls forward some, but she really does have a 'hump' on the top of her head from doing this everyday.

COmbing your hair in any direction WILL NOT make it grow in that direction since the direction of your hair follicles determines the direction of hir growth. You cannot change the direction of your follicles, no more than you can direct them to grow hair faster, longer, thicker; if you could tell them what to do, don't you think people who were going bald would direct them to grow hair, any type of hair. If you want curly hair you will have to perm it.

Yes if you style your hair one way for a way, it will eventually start to grow like that. Combing your hair back will cause it to grow like that, but developing curly hair is not going to happen.
