before you breed a dog, it should have its hips and elbows x-rayed and certified by OFA to be free of displaysia. They cannot do this untl 2 years of age.

He should also have finished his titles in show, to prove he is good enough quality to reproduce.

If you are unable to show him or have him health tested, then neuter him.

The best age to begin breeding a male dog of any type is to wait until you know his confirmation, temperment, and health. This usually does NOT happen until the dog is at least 2 yrs old. Check into Doberman Rescue breed websites for helpful information on this breed, genetic problems, and how NOT to continue to breed bad lines.

definitely wait until the dog is fully matured (2 years) and completely checked out by the vet. doberman pinschers suffer from many different genetic diseases, and if your dog is a carrier for any of them, he should not be bred, for the good of future generations. please take breeding seriously and don't just make your dog have puppies because you think you could make money or it'd be fun. there are so many doberman pinschers in rescue right now because of this, and so many more that we couldn't save because of the temperament and health problems irresponsible breeding causes.

For one thing you don't breed a male , you stud him out. You should stud him out when he is about a year old. He has to be 8 months old at least before AKC will reg. the litter. Also you should get a book on Dobermans. It will tell you the difference between Stud and Breed.

Your significant concern about the Malinois should be if you're experienced sufficient to handle this breed at the same time as it includes training and handling. They require an experienced handler who knows what he's doing or they can grow to be the hounds from hell. precise lower than that comes the severe power aspect that you suggested, a Malinois is style of a German Shepherd dogs on %. yet related to love? in case you may take care of a Malinois, those are the countless maximum severe and handler fixated dogs you'll get, that's area of the reason you spot professional operating shoes get such fantastic effects with them. at the same time as interior and quiet, opportunities are severe that your Malinois will imagine he's a lapdog and stay velcroed for your area in case you enable him. My Groenendael hero worships me and is glued to me each and every evening. None of those breeds are starter dogs, highly no longer the Malinois, and they are very different from one yet another, so my suggestion may be that you sit down and picture about what you may opt to apply your dogs for? what sort of teaching and paintings? might want to it really is a preserve dogs? Or no longer? And be one hundred% worry-free with your self about only how a lot dogs you may take care of.

No offense, but if you dont know the answer to that, you shouldnt be breeding your dog. Irresponsible breeding can cause puppies with congenital problems. Not to mention overpopulation.
