My cat stresses out when it's time to use the litter box. He will use the litter box to urinate but he refuses to use it to take a dump. I have used regular cat litter, pine litter, corn by product litter, crystal litter, armor hammer litter. Help

Some cats are more sensitive than other cats. I am wondering how long this behavior has been going on? It's best to catch it when it first starts. Is the litter box enclosed or open? Some cats will not go into an enclosed litter box. Especially larger breeds like the Bengal. You can buy a large box from Walmart that's not a litter box. Just a large storage box and put the litter in that. Shut him/her in the bathroom with the litter box and shut the door. You will have to leave the cat in this enclosed room with the litter box for a week or longer until he/she gets used to using this box and the litter. Think of the cat's feet as being very sensitive and don't use any litter that's harsh IE. corn litter, pine, litter, etc. Use the fine sand litter that clumps. Keep the box cleaned out at least twice a day. Some cats will not use a litter box that's been used. They like it clean. If the cat returns to the previous behavior, you have to start over again with the same routine until he/she learns to use the box. I don't think you will have any more problems.

cat might have a medical problem. changing the litter all the time is no good either. just pick one and stick with it. where the cat poops, clean it up and spray the spot with a vinegar and water mix and you could also put tin foil in those places. if you catch your kitty in the act, discreetly spray him/her with water (squirt bottle) if they don't know where the water is coming from and they associate the unpleasantness of being wet with pooping outside of the box, that might work. it did for my cat. good luck. p.s. never hit or yell at your kitty! they respond differently to that than dogs do. it will backfire.

Has he ever taken a bowel-movement in it? If not then maybe prefers a separate box to do it in. If he has then catch him the next time he's looks like he's about to take a dump and see if he's straining or having trouble passing it. If he is then he might be constipated and in that case you should seek the advise of your vet.

well that's unusual , do you have more than one cat ,if so try getting another litter box. your going to have to scold him for doing that ,that worked for mine he knew I WAS VERY ANGRY by my tone of voice, cats are smart, you can also fill up a water bottle and spray him when you catch him doing that it lets them know you don;t like the behavior .good luck.

Introduce them very slowly. You carry your cat whilst you enable the kitten to stroll around. under no circumstances placed them mutually unattended. ultimately they are going to be the better of pals yet introductions might desire to be slow on your unique infant to get used to the recent one. confirm you supply her a lot of interest. She might experience the strain of the recent infant around. placed one cat on one edge of a door and one on the different. Like, placed your new infant on your bathing room with a muddle container and food and water of her/his very own. enable your woman descendant to sniff the recent infant from decrease than the door. She possibly will hiss at first. try this for a pair of days. Then slowly convey the recent one out and permit your woman to work out her, yet in undemanding terms at a distance so she would be waiting to not scratch or chew the recent one. try this for each week till now you basically go away them by myself mutually. i might say ninety% of cats have no problems with a clean chum. basically takes some slow, slow creation. i've got been there honey. and under no circumstances feed them out of an identical dish. Water bowl is okay while they know and settle for eachother. yet separate food bowls consistently. wish this helps. proprietor of 18 healthful (spayed and neutered cats.)

Sounds dumb but try putting a piece of his poop in the box & leaving it there. He may get the idea if the odor is there.
