I'm 18yr male and I'm thinking about changing my hair color to some really dark color-maybe jet black. Is there anything cheap at Walmart that is good? Is there anyting I need to worry about when changing hair color. I know knowing.

absolutely... Since you're darkening your hair, it should be fairly cheap to dye your hair. I would use a henna product called "Bigen". It comes in lots of versions of black such as Dark Walnut, Ebony, Jet, and Oriental Black. The dye comes in an orange and white box and it will do wonderfully, since it's made for people with grey hair. It should be between 2.99 to 3.99.

Please don't do it jet black. It never looks real. It tends to look like shoe polish. You could get a similar effect with a really dark brown, but ones that are specifically labeled as black or blue/black are usually scary.
Also, since it's your first time I would highly suggest a semi-permanent that washes out gradually in about a month. Clairol Natural instincts or L'Oreal Color-Spa are both semi-permanent and will wash out gradually, and they wont damage your hair.
Oh yeah and be careful to not get globs of it on your forehead or ears because it will leave a stain for a day or so and look silly. If some of it drips on your skin just wipe it off with a damp wash cloth and you'll be set. Make sure to follow the directions about how long to leave it on and DO NOT save any unused mixture or it can explode in the container. You will probably not have to use all the mixture but throw away the excess.

Jet black is a difficult color to do on your own. It can look flat and dull. It's even harder to get out if you screw it up. Being that you're male, it may not make a difference to you - I don't know. If it were me, I would go with a dark chestnut brown or go to a salon for jet black.

Hair color can be relatively cheap, as low a $3.00 a bottle. You can pretty much use all of it, even the cheap stuff. Just be sure that you eyebrows will math your haircolor- nothing looks worse than eyebrows that don't match your haircolor. good luck!
