What do you, as an American, feel that this country is coming to? Please, I am not out to start an online war. I am simply trying to find out where my fellow Americans stand in their opinions. This is a very sensitive topic, I know. So tell me, what do you think?

I'm a catholic.i may not be the best catholic in the world but i still have an opinion on this.i believe there is a God.i also believe that he is sending messages more frequently every year and they are not being listened to.the bible states that 1 day he will come back.i think he should come back now and kick some serious butt.we as a whole and i mean all countries on the face of his earth are doing nothing but screwing things up.we all should be ashamed.maybe we should take a lesson from all our young athletes of the world who meet every 4 years in the Olympics and have a great time competing without incident.personally when i think of how good we could be compared to how we are it makes me sick.there is absolutely no reason why all the countries in this world can't help out the poor and the starving.there is no reason for any country to have nuclear war heads as accidents can happen.also there is no reason why all countries can't come together and provide a good education for all our children the poor and the rich alike to better ourselves.and this is all very possible.this world has more than the ability to make this happen.so i suggest we all get our heads out of our butts and get it right before it's too late.

I feel that our position as a superpower and a bastion of democracy is slowly slipping away due to our disastrous foreign policies and lack of a strong public educational system. China will be the next superpower. It may not sink to that level in my life time but certainly within the next 100 years. In another 200 years who knows if America as we know it will exist.

back interior the '90s, bill Clinton did wonders for our economic equipment (bear in mind sub $one million gasoline?) and for our diplomatic status interior the international. The undesirable information is that we are dropping our grip because of the fact the main effectual, influential u . s . interior the international because of the fact of our modern-day president. seem at our economic equipment. seem on the housing markets. seem on the disaster that's Iraq. on the different hand, issues are looking up because of the fact that Obama would be our president for the subsequent 8 years. along with his appointments to the ideally suited courtroom, the present conservative majority won't income any further skill than it already has. to not point out the main beneficial factors in Congress the dems gets this 365 days. Cons, your destiny is grim. Bush has sunk your deliver. heavily, you're in difficulty.

i think our country is doomed to some kind of collapse one way or
the other, we've had it too good for too long and the rest of the world
doesnt like it it will be internal or external either way. for me it was
pertty much over with the Korean war, some say earlier some say
later. but have no fear we'll make sure to take alot of other countries
with us no matter what happens... :)

I think that we have the potential to head into a very scary place, although some of us are trying to fight against that. The government has overstepped its boundaries on enough occasions to make me deeply concerned about our rights.

But then, I've also probably read too much Orwell and Atwood.

All I can say is that I'm getting out of here as soon as I can to like Romania or maybe Africa or Australia.

America is polluted, both the elements of life and the minds of the occupants.

I'm saying this as someone who was made, born, raised, and living in NYC, mind you.

I don't see many great things in America's future, I'm afraid.
