My friend was using an eyelash curler and she was suddenly caught by surprise by a sneeze with a vengence!!! When she sneezed, the curler RIPPED out half of her lashes on her top lid!!! She is concerned that they may not grow back due to the manner in which they were extracted! Does anybody know about if she will have trouble growing them back?

tell her you know someone (aka me) who has a really annoying eyelash that curls into her eye and every now and then she pulls it out, and it always comes back.
I'm pretty sure even with the amount pulled it will grow back, I'd say maybe 1&half to 2 weeks.
hope all works well, she may want to get fake one well she waits, but that may get in the way so I don't entirly recomend it.

In my opinion it's hair, so it will grow back! When you rub your eyes sometimes one eyelash or two just happens to fall off isn't it? And it's the whole thing, but your eyelashes are still there up until your age now. It isn't like the number of eyelashes decreases and decreases so I'm sure they will grow back. Our bodies have the ability to heal itself so if it can heal a wound, so why not grow back lost hair? It's just a matter of time! In the mean time, perhaps she can just use fake ones. So just wait! =)

RELAX! they grow back, and quickly too. In the meantime, if you cannot live with your eyelashes being gone, go to a salon and get fake eyelashes. They cost about 60$, they last for a month, and a technician can put them in. Pricey but they look amazing, and your eyelashes can still grow in. Give them about two weeks or go get some professional fake lashes. I did that one time, it hurt!! ow!

that depends on if it took her lashes out by the roots of the lid if the roots of the lash in the lid were damaged then no it will not grow back. if the lash was just ripped and it didnt get the root then her lashes will grow back

Wow, that sounds painful and frightening.
I curl my lashes too and a month ago somehow with curling I broke about three down to the root. They've grown halfway completely back now, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Eye lashes should grow back, but they take time. Brow hairs however, do not always grow back.
You may have to wait 4-8 weeks or so.

it might take a while. a friend of mine had cancer and it took her a while to grow em back. i suggest getting fake ones till they do. i dont understand though how they got pulled out. wasnt there a rubber strip on them to prevent that sort of thing from happening.
don't worry they'll definately grow back-it happened to my aunt when she was younger. it might just take a little time and will be embarrassing.

I've actually DONE this. Yes, they grow back. And I pull mine out as a nervous habit once in while. They always grow back.
