As a proprietor of the two and a former Circuit city worker, it is not undemanding to declare which might healthful you superb. Plasmas have extra suitable assessment ratios for the fee, are often extra effective for the fee and have richer blacks for the fee. even though if, now and lower back plasmas can journey burn-in - thats while a picture gets style of imprinted on the exhibit. It occurred to me on my television, yet replaced into fixed over the years. LCDs even though if, are made in smaller sizes. you might have a not undemanding time finding a Plasma decrease than 37 inches. an important factor to evaluate is style. style fairly does matter once you're procuring a lcd or Plasma television. i've got owned the two a 37" Panasonic Plasma (panasonics are between the superb plasmas for the fee) and a Sony Bravia lcd (that are additionally between the superb LCDs - even though in the event that they're extra high priced). With LCDs, you wont could complication approximately burn-in. So i might say on your challenge, get 2 LCDs for the smaller TVs and a million Plasma for the extra effective television. additionally, get the main important you could, the fee distinction isn't plenty for each and all of the extra length. One final notice, to steer away from burn-in on your plasma, under no circumstances go away the exhibit frozen (dvd paused or television instruction manual on exhibit) for any term longer than a minute or 2. additionally, consistently STRETCH the image in case you have the bars on the two factors of the exhibit. The bars are what burned into my plasma.

I think you should get a LCD tv with HD. With an LCD you get good quality, resolution and a large screen. With plasma, you'd probably get that same capabilities and a little thinner, but plasmas don't last very long. Once you drop it or accidentally ruin the screen, you won't be able to repair it.

Wait till after Christmas for the sales, instead of getting ripped off now.
ALSO.......... I've been wondering just what it the optimum size LCD (forget blurry plasma) for your average lounge.
I think anything past 60" is pushing it for your average sized lounge. I bought a Dell 28 inch LCD TV earlier this year, and as I already exepcted... few months later it was 32" which was their new standard size)
And we're very close to getting that size at an affordable price. (Yes I know we have 60" available now.. I mean affordable for mass market (< £1000)

I would say you need to bear in mind size of your room, what signal you can input and what your budget is.
Check maximum viewing distances here, it's just a ballpark figure so don't worry.

I myself have a fairly small living room, I don't have a 1080p signal (and have no plans to) but I have a massive budget. I decided on the best 32inch screen money can buy at the moment - the sony Bravia V2000.

Unless you really want to hang it from the wall or are very limited in depth, I'd go with a Sony LCD projection. You'll get a bigger screen for the same money, with excelent image quality.
Check this one:

Dont spend too much, that way you wont be so upset when it fails. There are several different defects that could appear, and they will, just after the basic warranty runs out.
