Red.
If you add white (pigment) you get pink.
If you add black (pigment) you get maroon.

Pink, Maroon and Red have the same Hue because they reflect the same wavelengths of light (from about 625 to 740 nm). They differ in Value or Brightness.

Do you mean what color is maroon? Its like a brownish red, sort of like rust. If you mean how is maroon classified, I think it's subjective. Example: is green a shade of yellow or blue? Who's to say? It's up to you.

technically you can't compare red to purple, but maroon is like 2 parts red 1.5 part blue and adding some white and black will dull the color, because red and blue are usually very intense colors

To me, it's a bit of a mix of red and brown, with maybe a bit of purple thrown in.
