I hear fundamentalists say this yet they eat pork and break the sabbath and sleep with women on their periods which are all forbidden in the commandments. They do this while saying every verse is the word of God and the word of God needs to be obeyed. Isn't this hippocritical?

You are asking several questions at once. First, if someone claims "the word of God needs to be obeyed", and they deliberately disobey it, then yes, of course it is hypocritical.

Second, if the Bible is indeed the Word of God, why would God waste His words and compromise His integrity by including material He never intended us to obey or take seriously? Was He lying to us half the time, or teaching with such a lack of conviction that He doesn't care whether we listen to Him or not? Ridiculous. So anyone who sincerely acknowledges God for who He claimed to be should certainly take the whole Bible seriously.

Third, just because you are aware of some individuals who don't "practice what they preach", this doesn't mean we can conclude theirs was the typical, optimal, or eventual behavior of everyone claiming to be a Christian. There are phonies in every vocation, lifestyle, and religious practice. It does not either prove or disprove the validity of the Bible or Christianity. Those who choose to follow the whole Bible experience great rewards and satisfaction from doing so; otherwise, why would they do it?

Hope this gave you some insights.

You are hilarious!!
Eat pork??? We are not suppose to eat pork? Ever heard of the New Testament?
Observing the Sabbath means a day devoted to God like going to church and resting... we also understand that in modern society we may have to work on Sundays - so "other" days can be a personal Sabbath each week if needed - If we love God and seek him he is not going to crush us for that...

I believe every word of the Bible - it has blessed my life more than I could have imagined.

Yes . I believe in the entire Bible, and I understand that we should not eat unclean foods nor break the Holy Sabbath and participate in immoral sex.And yes that is two faced.
Now I agree that we are saved by grace but if there is no law then how do we define sin? Read the entire Bible and study it in it's entirety. Then we can understand what will truly make God happy. The only way to know God though is through his word and not through personal opinion of what god will like.

It is impossible to follow the whole bible.

A Christian can't follow the whole bible and be a Christian. There isn't anything loving or compassionate about killing someone for violating a particular religious law.

Christians are forbidden to kill. Jesus taught non violence. Period.

Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus. The other books of the bible have importance to Christians for various reasons, but our religion is based on the teachings of Jesus, (i.e., the first four books of the New Testament.) That's it.

May you know the Lord Jesus and have peace.

We should take the whole Bible seriously. This does not mean that we should follow the Mosaic laws, because they weren't meant for you and me. When we read a commandment in the Bible, we need to understand who the commandment is directed at.

The Whole Bible, Word for Word.

And by the way you mis interpret.

Romans 10:4
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

The New King James Version, (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers) 1998, c1982.e way you mis interpret

a Christian is no longer under the law, but under grace.

The Bible is a holy book with no inherent authority attached to it.

The universal Church is the supernatural organization that Jesus Christ established, and to which he gave both the authority and the mission of leading all to salvation.

Anyone who expects a book (even a holy, inspired, and inerrant book) to accomplish the mission of the church, is in for some serious disappointments.

the whole bible is inspired of god. most of it is the history of how god worked with his people. the commandments you mentioned were a part of the mosaic law code, which god only had in place temporarily until Christ came. of course the fundamental principles are still valid, like do not murder, only sleep with your wife, etc.

Sleeping with a woman when she has her period is not allowed in the Bible?

Hot damn, I just thought it was a bit bloody, if not disgusting, and would give the male involved the feeling like he was stabbing her instead of having sex with her...

... ya learn something new every day, I suppose.
