This question was asked by my nephew while I was out of the room!
He has a crush on a" Freshman Cutie" at his school and has been berated by Family and Friends about the age and maturity levels. Your answers ,so far, are very diverse and single minded, I Thank You for your efforts.

It's okay as long as he's doing it out of kindness, caring, and respect. Some guys like to ask out younger girls because they're ignorant of reputations or look (keyword) like they'd be easy to pick on. In the latter cases, it's not okay. There is nothing funny or great about that.
Like I said though, if he's genuinely attracted to the girl, go for it. Just be respectful and courteous. Mostly a note to others, it's not breaking the law if there isn't sex. Regardless of the "4 year" difference. I do recommend impressing her parents though. ;)

most people will tell you know but i think it depends on the people if your 18 yet make sure you get her parents approval
