Tell your mother that as an adult, she should know that when you take in a pet, you assume responsibility for it. This is a kitten and will behave as such till she outgrows it. Get her a cat tree to jump on and only let her play on it. She may have been taken from her mother before she was fully weaned. Lots of kitties suck on ears and stuff because of that. Get her spayed and she will probably calm down some. Remind mom that it's illegal to dump a pet so if it does go, she will have to take it to a shelter or find it a home herself. Good luck!

Wow, it does sound like your doing everything right. Yes she will mellow a bit after being spayed, most cats do, also, she will definatly mellow out as she gets older. Unfortunatly, kittens are hyper crazy little guys.
There is a spray you can buy..I forget what it is called, but it has a hormone or somthing in it that mellows cats out. You just spray it in the air around the cat. We sometimes will use it in boarding when a cat is agressive and we need to clean its condo, or change the water and the cat wont let us. Call up a vet's office or even PetCo or somthing and ask about it. You cant use it on them all the time, but once in a while when the cat wont settle down and your mom is freaking, it might help you. Good luck : )

First of all, calm down. It sounds like you are just as hyper as that kitten!!!
Kittens are hyper. They are like little kids. What you don't see is when you aren't there, she probably sleeps a lot of the day. When you are home, you need to spend a lot of time playing with her to tire her out. You can't really keep her from jumping up on stuff if you aren't there 24/7 because that is just in a cat's nature. Even if you teach her not to jump on stuff when you are there, she just learns that she can't do it until you leave. If she wants up there, she'll get there.
The good news is that all of this hyper, crazy kitty behaviour will slow down as she gets older. Also, once you get her spayed ("fixed"), she'll slow down a bunch.
So, start trying to train her by being firm and telling her to get down from things that she shouldn't be on (but as I said, you can never, ever truly deter them, unless you install specially made things that will beep loudly when a cat passes by - check out your pet store). Spend lots of time playing with her - she should be running and jumping - even if you are just sitting in your chair with a laser pointer. Tire her out at night, and she'll sleep like the baby she is.
Time will make her calm down, and get her to the vet as soon as she is heavy enough to be spayed. Good luck!!

ok, you've been extraordinarily irresponsible and did not get your cat spayed. Now, you'll double that irresponsible act and grants intact kittens away. you want to s/n them and s/n your cat. if you're no longer keen to attempt this, and that i'll anticipate you received't, then a minimum of take the kittens for your SPCA or Humane Society. they'll probable cost you a small cost to take the kittens, yet they'll s/n them earlier putting them. in addition they reveal screen the human beings adopting them and cost them a cost. they'll do a much extra perfect pastime than you searching them good homes.

cats are nocturnal so they are going to be very active at night. Kittens need a lot of attention , so play with your kitten before going to bed or close her in a room until she out grows this. do you know how many people "give up" pets because they don't do exactly what they want them to do. Your mom is being iresponsible by not trying to teach the kitten and just wanting to get rid of it. That is terrible

Your kitten sounds like a normal kitten, remember kittens are BABIES. They will do goofy things just like you did goofy things as a baby, your mother should remember that. Just pull her down from where she isn't supposed to be, have a can of pennies around and maybe scare her with the noise with a loud NO! Put two sided sticky tape near where she wants to climb, cats hate stuff on their feet. Love her and please ask your mother to be patient, after all she was with you when you were learning.

Your Mom is a little unreasonable. It's just a baby! All kittens get the night time crazies. She will eventually outgrow it. Good luck.
