were raised religiously? I really want to know how many of you came from religious backgrounds, or have you always been nonbelievers? How many of you are former Christians? I seriously want to know so please no out of topic answers, or sarcasm.... You don't have to be religious to be respectful...

my parents are religious hindus

please don't come to the conclusion that my doubt of god is because of hinduism

it's not, i really like hindu philosophy though

I am a non-believer in god/s (I do believe in other things, like humanity, love, et al). I was raised in a religious home, by a very religious mother and a lukewarm father. I always thought it a fairy tale but called myself a Christian throughout childhood.

I believe in a higher power, however, I don't go to church. It seems a little far fetched to me. I left organized religion because I was asking questions no one could answer, or wouldn't answer. I decided I liked thinking for myself better than being told what to think.
