Yup - when I was a christian I had this feeling a few times, like 6 or 7. It was very powerful "peace that passeth all understanding."
I can understand how this would be very comforting as it certainly was to me. It would also be very convincing "proof" that the bible god was real.

Yes, it was about 6 years ago and I was having culture shock in a place that I was visiting. A place very different from that of where I am from. So I prayed and prayed and prayed to the lord for help, and finally, I felt a feeling of relief and heaved a sigh as if letting it all out. From that point on I felt quite the bit better.

Yes. In 1991, my oldest daughter was killed (along with 5 others) and I actually felt a presence that somehow gave me peace. It changed my life for the better but it is admittedly difficult at best to properly explain.

Yes. Several times now and each was unforgettable.
The most recent was yesterday. I was walking and a car pulled out of a side street and plowed right into me. It was moving slow enough that I was hurt, just shaken up. Christ was with me and helped me calm quick enough that I was able to comfort the driver who was distressed that she hit somebody.
