Go to Answers In Genesis and read their website. Subscribe to their magazine called "Creation". Creation Research is also a great site.
Go online and get some answers to your questions at quandablog
Pray that God will reveal the Truth to you. Many Muslims have prayed, heard from God and found His answer very surprising.

Why do you slap yourself? Why are these thoughts horrible?
I have abandoned Christianity and I am much happier and frankly much more succesful as a human being for having done so. God is untenable, especially the God of the Bible. The Bible and the Koran are both riddled with scentific inaccuracies, absurd postulates ("and on that day... the moon will turn to blood Joel 2:30-31), and flat-out contradictions.
Secular humanism is on the rise and religion is declining, just like the Greek myths and geocentrism. Christianity has made enormous contributions to human history, including art, architecture, and more than its fair share of bloodshed. It has had its time and now it is passing on as a historical anecdote. You really should not be afraid of your intellect: if your reason and objectivity tell you that your religious faith is wrong or misplaced, then why doubt it? As an atheist, I am much happier knowing that I am not a sinner, that I do not need an invisible man in the sky to save me from breaking rules that he came up with, I was not made from dust to serve the whimsy of this invisible man. Rather I am a free individual: my morality is intuitive, I do not need to hate anybody that the Bible says I should hate, and I do not fear death as I have absolutely no fear of hell.
I live for myself and for my fellow man, and my society is more important to me than my myths. Evolution spend 3.5 billion years making YOU and ME specifically: YOU and I are quite literally the finest products of the Earth, the species best adapted to survival that has created all of the art and beauty in the known universe. We are the universe's finest creation, not just some meaningless dust-people made to serve the arbitrary morality of a jealous and bloodthirsty God.

First, get into a Bible-Study group(they will hold you accountable to do your studies in order to participate& you will have to be in The Word to do your work)Second, take heart. Archeology is proving what the Bible says every day! The thing that really got me going was when the history channel did a program on the exodus and found a large stable that could actually hold the horses and chariots that were documented in the Bible as chasing the Jews and being swept away in the Red River.

I think this is the kind of thing the Apostle Paul had in mind when he wrote about taking our thoughts captive to Christ. When you find thoughts that do not agree with Who Christ is and what you know Him to be, talk to Him about them. Apologize and ask His forgiveness and then ask Him to help you not think things like that. He may well allow more of that type of thought; if that happens, it's not because He didn't hear you or doesn't care, it's so you'll get practice in taking those thoughts captive.
Read the Gospel of John. Then do Luke. Together, these two will tell you so much about Who God and Christ really are. Then go take a look at I&II Peter. Those two are written to believers. They're great and greatly under-studied.
Don't underestimate your enemy. He isn't going to let your faith go unchallenged. Tell him to take a hike -- in Jesus' name, of course so he has to listen.

I have been having the same thoughts lately, but that is just a normal part of life. It's OK to question our beliefs. That is the only way for us to grow, I think. It's very normal to have doubts so don't feel guilty about it, ok?

Please stop trying to be religious and just be a child of God. James say that if any seek wisdom let them ask Father God. Jesus said the pray that keeps us strong. Do that every day and mean it from your heart and Jesus will cover you with His Love.

The best thing I believe you can do is to read prayerfully the book of 1 John. Several times. Then just ask God to reveal himself to you in an unmistakable way. If your prayer is sincere and you want to glorify Him, He will reveal himself to you. I've seen it myself.

Science is not a religion. Simple as that. You can believe in Science, study it, appreciate it. But it won't save your Soul. You can't take comfort from or worship science. Science does not love you.
