Some hypnotists develop private practices that assist others with things such as quitting smoking, losing weight etc. They help to override the subconscious thoughts of addiction. They make good money too and can work out of their home if they want.

The newest thing in our neck-of-the-woods is using hypnosis to overcome anxiety problems, smoking, over-eating, suicidal thoughts, etc. Maybe check into some clinics that specialize in natural healing techniques, salons/spas, or holistic practioners. I'm not a professional, but I'm thinking that maybe by "From a professional point of view," you meant a on a serious note, and not some cruise ship show type career.

I would say that most hynotists are first and foremost either
1 - great public speakers, and market themselves as a speaker who gives demonstrations of hypnosis, or
2 - a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and works as a therapist but uses hypnosis as part of therapy.
That's just my guess.
