Why do you accept homosexuality but not pedophilia when both say they were born that way?

If someone said they were a pedophile, but wouldnt act on this, would you accept this? If not, why do you accept homosexuality?

100 years ago they were viewed as great deviations. Why do you assume as time goes on we are becoming wiser, and not just more immoral?

I stated above that the pedophile will not act on his urges, why dont you accept his urges?

I read the question by the poster and then I read several of the responses.

I concede the point that there is certainly a difference between two adults consenting to have sex with each other and a child being forced into sex against their will or understanding.

But the question was about how both homosexuals and pedophiles say the same thing, that they are born that way. Most people who have answered this question have clearly revealed how they feel about both homosexuality and pedophilia, but have not addressed the question. Is it not possible to for you to give a direct answer to a legitimate question just because it is obvious that you disagree with the poster on the subject of homosexuality?

When 6 year old kids start to march on the streets, claiming their rights to marry a 56 year old guy...then pedophilia becomes a true problem. But honestly, I never think that will happen, do you?

Of course I would accept a pedophile that doesn't act on his feelings. In fact, most pedophiles have enormous psychological problems in fighting their feelings. Most also love kids too much to act on their feelings.

And of course, any child abuser should be punished, and also treated. Maybe even more treated than punished, because that's what any forgiving society should do.

I simply fail to see the comparison between pedophiles and two consenting adults who have a loving relationship, by the way. Whether those two adults are straight or gay doesn't even matter in your weird example.

Phedophilia is not acceptable because there is an unconsenting victim when an act is performed.
If somebody said they were a pedophile, of course I wouldn't accept it because the first thing I will think is them hurting my kids. And they assurance that they wouldn't act on this is just not good enough - would it be good enough for you?
Homosexuals have sex with consenting adults, just as heterosexuals, and I don't see a problem.

Spiritually (in a Christian Sense)- Both are wrong. God did not create a man and a woman to sleep together, or for a child to have sex, and the same can be said for Incest.

Lawfully- Homosexuals consent to sex with eachother, pedofiles who are ACTING on their urges FORCE children to have sex with them.

Because pedophillia is usually not a mutual relationship but rather use of power by an adult to abuse a helpless child for their own satisfaction. While in homosexuality there are two consenting adults doing it, both of them involved in the relationship and making decisions by them selves to take part in the activity which is usually not the case in pedophilliac relationships.

I know the following Scriptures do a good job portraying homosexuals. Doesn't mention pedophiles per se, but would gather, since it is an un-natural sex act, that the same thoughts would apply.

The victimization of children is much worse in the eyes of society than the consent of aberrant adults with evident
abnormal brains And they don't usually force their sickness on others . they are not considered criminal.
Pedophiles haven't such medical evidence, have victims, have been villianyzed for good reason and their is no cure for the criminal mind as of yet.they also kill their victims.We need to protect our children : this would be wisdom.

no. you are not becoming wiser. you are becoming more immoral. accepting weaknesses is not the way to build a wise society. recognising that there is a weakness and doing what you can to modify that individual's behavior or thought patterns is the way to advance society.
