You can't spoil the suprise without permission from the daughter.
So tell her that she is getting the present of her dreams on christmas day OR tell her daughter how sad she is and leave it up to the daughter to sort it out!

Keep the secret!! Take her out to lunch or do something nice for her. She will be so happy when the daughter arrives that maybe she will be in a good holiday mood and be nice to you!

I purely rather rather wish the DIL on no account comes on right here and reads all the spite and anger that's directed at her. to submit with it in real existence could be hell yet then to have your each selection puzzled and plastered everywhere in the internet for each guy or woman to verify is purely downright nasty. mom in rules from hell could be made unlawful

just tell her, she'll love u for it. and if you don't tell her, and she is surprised with her daughters arrival, she's gonna ignore the living day lights out of ""you". so if you care for her attention, do what's good for "you" and take her to the side and tell her

Don't tell her.. instead cheer her up, ask her if she needs any help with her shopping (go with her), invite her over for dinner, etc.
