I believe because it satisfies something within me. Not because I have any empirical proof, not because prayers come true literally, not because it makes my life easier, etc., but it just 'fits'.
I do not believe things about the Bible, creationism/evolution, etc. just because I was told to by people- too many of them an agenda.
I have tried to seek out the truth on my own as much as possible. Based on my studies, I do not take Genesis literally, I think that most of the end times prophecies were filled in or by 70AD, I do not think Jesus is 'The Only Way', I do not think humans are destined for hell, and I don't think the Trinity works the way often described.
Support for these beliefs? That is a lot to ask for in a forum like this, and I am not especially worried about convincing others.
On the other hand, if you had a single, discuss-able question to ask, I'd be happy to talk about it.

Can you support your views?
Consider everything, stretch your mind out to the edge of what you think is the edge. Is your mind still inside your head?... well you have a long way to go.
Answer your question I will, but for now I want you to learn to meditate... it is easy.
Become quiet do not say anything to yourself, get angry if your mind will not listen bring yourself into trouble with yourself and make no compromises. If that does not work try this. Imagine you are the naughty little child and imagine you are the angry but loving parent. Now deal with yourself. Now if that does not eventually work ... I say you are a weed.
Know this though it can take some time, some will need 1 second others can take a life time of cycles.
Know, all came from ONE... how could it not have?
When meditating travel to the sun, enter the sun, you will not burn as you are now not of matter.
Once in the sun ask "who is here" then find me.

There is plenty of evidence. It is difficult to believe in something you can't see but there are indicators that, with logic and an open mind, a person can come to the realization that an invisible realm exists in direct relationship to the physical (visible) world.
Take the concept of the HOLY TRINITY for example. All of creation reveals a trinitarian inter-relationship to creating.
Anyone can observe creation and creatures and realized the Creator of the Universe made them in his image, the image of the HOLY TRINITY. This is why Genesis says, "...let us make man in our image..."
Angels and demons are intellectual creatures without a body; plants and animals do not have an intellect but a body and mortal soul. IT IS ONLY LIVING, HUMAN, BEINGS, that have a MIND, BODY, and SOUL. Only human beings have all three. Now, living, human, being is the existence of man. Those words describe the essence of man's mind, body, and soul. The Body is living, the Mind makes us human and distinguishing us from animals, and our Soul makes us the being that we become (good or evil).
Now, even Muslims will agree Allah is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipresent (ever present). These words describe the existence of God. So, what is the essence of God? I will hold off answering this question till the end.
Now, if you think about the existence of a person they have a triple existence: physical (body), mental (mind), and spiritual (eternal soul). In fact, whenever we create something it has all three of these parts. When we cook we have a recipe (in our mind), we gather all the raw ingredients, and we cook (don't burn it, ha ha) what it is we are making. Cooking has the physical, mental, and spiritual parts. Same with engineering or technology it has three parts: the blueprints (to convey an idea), the raw materials (physical), and the workmanship (spiritual). If something goes wrong investigators will look for a design flaw, material flaw, or faulty workmanship. THIS DEMONSTRATES CREATION HAS THREE PARTS LIKE THE CREATOR.
Now, in the Bible it says Jesus is the visible likeness of the invisible God. (Colossians 1:15) The ESSENCE OF GOD IS: Father (mental), Son (physical), Holy Ghost (spiritual). ONE TRUE GOD IN THREE JUST LIKE A PERSON. THREE PARTS ONE PERSON. When you are sick you send for a doctor; when you are mentally troubled, a psychiatrist; when spiritually seeking you seek out a holy person.

I can't convince you. I know what I was before I became a Christian, and I know what I am now! I wouldn't trade anything for what I have experienced, what I have enjoyed, what peace of mind, love and joy I have now over the wasted uselessness of life that I had before. I know that there is a God in Heaven, that He is the Judge of all man kind and one day He will come back to do exactly everything that He said He would do. Convince you of it I can not, point you in the right way I can - it is in His book to read it and apply it wholly by faith in Christ Jesus for the salvation of your soul, to ask Him to forgive you of your sins by the repenting of them and turning from them, to seek Him completely to live for him always, to find yourself in communication daily moment by moment with Him is the joy of life and sustainer of all things that life throws at you. Without Him there is no hope, with Him there is all hope, all faith, all joy, all love, all goodness, all things for your edification in and through Him.
You choose, you may have periodic joy, you may some peace, but to have these things not only abiding, continuous, but increasing and eternally - what choice would you choose?

Celtic Pagan Priest here.
On Abortion.
Not my body NOT my right to decide. but i support the ability of Women to make their own Choices. even if i may disagree with the Choice.
On Homosexuality,
Really do not care who you sleep with. as long as you return my lawn mower when you are done with it i am happy to have you as a neighbor.
On Gay Marriage.
as a Legally Ordained Minister. a Gay Marriage Ban is an infringement on my religious right to preform a marriage ceramony for anyone whom i choose to do so for.
and that is nothing compaired to the violation of the rights of the Gay couple to life liberty and the persuit of happiness.
and it is a direct violation of the clause stating "no law respecting an establishment of religion". because it limits the social and legal term of Marriage to the Christian religion.
On the War in Iraq.
Bush Lied to get us there. and now we are stuck in another Vietnam. but he promotes his Christian faith and that is all that is needed to get enough votes to win.
I am glad that Saddam is out of power because he was a murderer and all around horrible person. but we should have focused on Bin Laden first.
On Christians Stealing Christmas from Pagans.
I think that they would like to believe that, but it is their beliefs that have changed and molded to reflect our culture not the other way around. they decorate their homes in holly and evergreen trimmings and decorate trees durring the winter solstice. even though the bible tells them not to. they are simply preserving our traditions and rituals, even if they do not know it.
On my Views...
they are all simply my views. and other people may have theirs.
we do not all have to agree all of the time. but we do not have to kill each other over what god we believe in either.

The Apostle Paul stated that his preaching was not with wise and persuasive words, but by the Holy Spirit's power, so that your faith would not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
In other words, if you will not receive the simple message of the gospel of Christ, the very best Philadelphia lawyer will not be able to persuade you.
And that's the truth.

i believe in god
i am a spiritualist medium who communicates with spirit
these spirit are validated and proven .. through descriptions names dates etc given ..
through these validated spirit i am also able to speak with my spirit guides ..
i have also read and been taught spirit teachings through other spirit guides ...
to have all this validated and proven leaves me no doubt that spirit live on
now ...to the god question
spirit speak of god ... they speak of spirit realms ..the spirit teachings speak of god ...
so if i was to disbelieve there is a god i am disbelieving the spirit teachings and ultimately spirit itself .. which means i am disbelieving myself
so it goes hand in hand for me .. i have proof of spirit who speak of god .. so logically for me anyway .. god exists
this is the best way i can explain it and i accept not many will understand .. but i hope it helps explain why " I " believe in god
