i hate it when people answer this kinds of questions with insults, damn hippies, anyway, yeah just dont beat him all the time, only when it's absolutely necessary, and when u do, make sure u pet him a lot afterwards, on a different situation, then he'll realize u only beat him when he does something wrong, but that you're happy with him for other things, if you just beat him without petting him he'll just be afraid of u all the time and he'll never ever come out of where he's hiding.
another VERY important thing is that u dont hit him AFTER he's done whatever thing he's done, it MUST be DURING the act, i dunno why but that's just the way dogs work, if u hit him afterwards he'll have no idea why u've beaten him and he'll just be scared of u
but just remember, PET HIM AND PRAISE HIM A LOT

First of all this question sounds silly and made up, and secondly if you really did beat your dog you should never do it again. It isn't fair to beat something that can't defend itself and beating doesn't solve anything, except make problems worse. If you don't feel you can't quit beating on the dog you should give the dog away to a good home that won't beat it, and you should never own a pet again.
Now, from a Veterinary perspective, if you did beat the dog and it cried and yelped etc. then went off to hide is it injured? Did you dislocate the hip or break some ribs? Perhaps that is why it is hiding because it is in excruciating pain? Perhaps you should look for it and see what's wrong with it and contact your Vet for help.

That's a smart dog. He's hiding because you beat him! I hope he runs away and finds a much better home. You should be ashamed of yourself. That dog is just a poor animal. He has teeth that could really hurt you but he is kind enough not to use them to bite you. Although he might now since you beat him to the point of crying and yelping. You might want to consider seeking professional help. If you're beating an animal, what is going to keep you from further violent behavior on something or someone else? Seek help before you end up in jail.

Well obviously the beating was serious. If you're trying to be funny, it isn't funny and if that dog ever comes out of his hiding place, you better not beat him again or I will get the ASPCA all over you before you raise your hand to hit that dog again.
Seriously? You're probably lying because even if you really did beat that dog, you would've found it, dog's aren't like people, they're not that smart to "hide" from you and the dog would've forgot you beat him by now because dogs have a very short term memory. Unless you beat him on a regular basis (which is sick and I hope your neighbors call the cops) he shouldn't even remember you beat him.
Thanks for lying and trying to be funny but I just beat you at your own "game."

Someone should beat you to test to see how long it would take before you went out of the house after it happened. If you have not permanently scarred his mind and ruined his future behavior, eventually he will come out to eat and then you can have another chance to make him into the kind of dog you deserve.

I assume you're attempting to be "cute" about your beating your dog. I hope someone beats you the same way - then see if you come out of hiding.

dont beat him ever again or else people will call the cops.
try to give him a treat where he is, then after a little bit give him another one a little farther out and keep doing it until he is out and then pet him and brush him and do whatever he likes to do for him

No, don't beat the dog. Treat the dog the same way that you would to be treated.
