i have a lot of friends that have crushes on their teachers. does anyone else think this is weird? i know lots of people do, and it's becoming fairly common these days, but for me it is just wrong. i don't really know why though.

that is sooooo weird. i know it's becoming common these days, but GOD that's just weird and freaky. well maybe if the teacher is somewhat young, then it'll be okay, but otherwise, it's creepy. i mean, even if the teacher's young, that's still creepy enough.

it is normal to have a crush on a teacher, as long as it does not go any farther. it would be weird if a teacher has a crush on a student. now that is becoming fairly common these days.

It is a very common phenomenon. That is why there are rules and laws against such relationships. Sexually and socially mature adults are in a very good position to take great advantage of up and coming youths. Just because you are a teacher does not immediately transform you into a wretched, warty, old, curmudgeon... And of course the fringe benefits (grade advantages) must be appealing as well doncha know.

It's entirely common. It's a crush thing on a 'respect figure..' er.. maybe a 'figure of authority..' that'll do it. Kids luv somebody who shows interest in them, is 'kind' to them. I had a helluva crush on a cute world civilization teacher (yeah, they called it that/we had it in the 70's) that was a student teacher.

Crushes on teachers? It's alright if it remains an innocent crush, but it's just weird if you're actually obsessing.

They are infatuated with someone in the limelight.Someone who is stimulating thier minds. Teaching them things they don't know so they seem like they know everything! But that is not true. And yes it's not the right place to be involved (in school)

Age is probably what makes it feel weird. The fact that they are second degree parents to students will make it feel weirder. But remember, they're people too. Not that I encourage that...
Heck yeah, that's weird.

its normal

I had a skinny cute Statistics teacher once, around my age too, she was talking about the probability of getting heads and tails.

Couldn't concentrate somehow.
