maybe what you mean is to commute?
ofcourse, everyday i need to walk 15 minutes to train station, travel by train for 20 minutes, then walk to my office for another 10 minutes.. total about 50 minutes (including waiting for the train).. this also happens if i go home from the office...
it would be so nice if i don't need to spend my valuable 100 minutes on commuting.. i could do something else.. maybe answering questions on yahoo

Well for one if you didn't have technology you couldn't have asked the entire Internet to help with your essay. You would have had to do what people in the past would have and spent hours, days, or weeks going to the library, interviewing people, and doing research on your own and still not having enough information as you would get from the Internet. That being said I guess you wouldn't have this assignment either without technology.

Traffic is very bad in Seattle Wa, I travel one and a half hours to and from work, If there is an accident it's even longer, so I put in three hours or more per day driving to work.
