If Dale Sr. was around, do you think that he would still be driving to this day or would he be doing the behind the scenes work? I truly miss seeing him drive. R.I.P Dale Sr.

he would atleast have been a 8 time series champ by now and hold the record alone.i think D.E.I as a race team would be leaps and bounds better than they are right now,Dale JR.would have had atleast one nextel cup title,he raced so smart when his dad was still with him and its taking jr a little while to get it down totally with out the help of big E. Also R.C.R would be a dominating team with Dale SR.,Harvick and Burton ,that would be a dream team,i would love to see that R.C.R AND D.E.I drivers working togther ,i think hendrick and rousch and the new toyoata boys wouldnt know what hit them!!!!!

He probably would have retired in much the same fashion as Rusty (without the ESPN IRL gig). In other words, he wouldn't be driving part-time like Bill Elliott or occasionally like Darrell. If you watch Dale Sr interviews in the last couple years before his death, he talked about the importance of his family. I think he would have liked to spend more time with his wife, kids and grandkids.

I probably would have expected Sr. to announce retirement at the end of the 2001 season. They had mentioned how he felt when he had his 2 cars leading the Daytona 500, I think he would've seen how quickly the team found success and might have decided to retire and look after his new team.

I think he would have retired in 2002 or 2003. He was like 50 when he died. I think that after 50 they should retired cuz that like 30 years w/o seeing your family alot and by then the race winnings is comparable to winning the lottery a couple times. Then went to being Team owner for DEI.

He would have been retired by now. He would be running DEI, watching Jr and helping him with his career. Real question is what would Kevin H be doing these days if Sr. was still around.

it replaced into nice to ensure accessible yet I about shed a tear lacking that vehicle. i am going to imagine how Jr felt having to be reminded everytime he is going to that music. like it isnt on his ideas already. dam it replaced into his dad ya comprehend. no human being might want to EVER stress the three on the music back. i imagine Jr will stress it for the severe race of his career and that is it. he dont opt for absolutely everyone in it both. AMPEDUP88 I trust you. Sr might want to were an aweful guy to attempt this with the penny. I dont comprehend howw absolutely everyone ever cheered for him. GLUFF2001 you're an fool. follow the question you moron.

He may have retired because he would have been aroun 56 by now, but I don't think he would have if things were going well for him. I don't think there's anyway he would have just left the sport completley though, so he'd defenetly be around doing something.

No. He would have already won his eighth championship and would have retired. That was all he wanted, to be one better then Richard Petty. I miss having his guidance to run NASCAR. The sport has gone to hell in a handbag since he's been gone.
