There's a lot of breeds that mach that desciption. Check sites like dogbreedinfo.com to see just what you want. You mentioned all the things that every potential dog owners look for, but all dogs are different. The same exact breed may be calm, easy to potty train, stick by your side and love it's environment, or be stubborn, hyper and tend to wander off. Also check out AKC.com. Read up, maybe visit some shelters and breeders and make your desision based on experience. Do you have friends or family with dogs? What do you think about them?

I believe that any breed can be the dog you are looking for with the proper training and a patient and consistant owner. What you should be looking for is a dog whose size, requirements and tendencies most closely match the time,space and energy level you have to put into it.

well, it depends on what ur looking for
border collies are legitimately the smartest breed of dog in the world, so they're easy to potty train and learn tricks and learn anything that u want him to, i tought mine to turn on the tv with his nose! theyre soo darn smart :D

Well I like Chihuahuas but usually people either love them or hate them, I have come to know... LOL I think the general favorite is Cocker Spaniel and Golden Retriever. I like Spaniels, they're friendly and loyal and not as big as Retrievers.

omg you should get a toy puddle. i just had one but he died on Monday. they are cute, not hyper, easy to potty-train, and mine did not run away, pluse they live till they are about 15 or 16 may seem short but it is forever and you will love him/her.oh and they are also small so you can carry him/her. hope you pick it because i bet you will not regret it.=)

What u need to do is to go and talk to a vet and he/she will tell u.I have a toy poodle and he was very easy to potty-train.

You don't have to have a purebred dog for it to be a good dog. Mixed breeds even have fewer health problems than most purebred dogs!

The best dog that I have ever found to be was a Miniature Dachshund. I have had two and they were awesome!
