I feel happy and sad all the time. It's called ambivalence, and I feel most alive when this happens... I don't know why. I actually enjoy it.

Yes I believe people can be happy and depressed at the same time. You can easily be happy in one area of your life and feel really bad in another. Both these feelings have to be able to coexist because you are proof that it does. What you are feeling is real. Hopefully your next question will be how to turn your life into what you want it to be, not what you think it should be. Saying the word should makes it out like your life is written in stone somewhere and you lost the slab it was written on. You are the only one who can figure out what you need to make the rest of your life full filling. Just remember it is not one thing that will make everything the way you would wish, it is many little things that adds up to the bigger picture. Discover balance, acceptance, patience, forgiveness, courage and strength all for the benefit of your personal growth

The truth that the music is depressing doesnt mean that you are depressed. I believe that being glad and depressed simultaneous is really difficult and may simplest happen in unique instances. The only rationalization of you feeling comfortable and depressed while now's that you are completely satisfied your father is ok, but you at the moment are in a more philosophical state of mind and you're considering lifestyles and possibly just stepping back and fascinated about life normally. You'll be taking note of miserable track considering that we, as humans, can relate and have interaction to it. Feeling is more stimulating than not feeling, and so taking note of any sort of song, even depressing track, is might be a way of experience a feeling of some style.

Yes, it's possible. I've had two situations where I was happy and sad at the same time. Right now I'm living with the love of my life and I'm so happy, but I had to leave behind my friends and my activities, and my son is not happy because he had to do the same, so I am sad for those reasons. Take a step back and try to see what it is that you are missing. It could be as simple as needing a hobby or as complicated as needing a new career.

Yes. Depression is not 'sadness' exactly, it is more like a loss of meaning and purpose. You can have moments of happiness and pleasure, even when depressed. But when depressed it is harder to maintain the good feelings, and often you lose interest in activities that used to give pleasure.
Also, I think life never turns out OK - we live in an exploitative, rotten world, and get old and die. We can't draw the curtain on those facts, even at our happiest moments.

Just because you have someone in your life doesn't mean it takes away all the garbage inside. Why do people think that is a cure?
I suggest you seek out a good counselor and discuss how you are feeling. Something needs to be dealt with and ignoring it or running from it will not solve it. Besides, it will catch up with you in many ways. It can ruin your relationship for one.
Get help. You won't regret it.

No, you can't be happy and depressed at the same time. Congratulations on hooking up with the girl of your dreams. Maybe it's just fear you feel, fear of losing her, fear of not being good enough for her, and not sadness or depression. Fear and happiness can coexist.

Sounds reasonable. A very good question. Yes you can have mixed feelings because of mixed good and bad things happening in your life.
Thank you for the well thought out and nicely expressed and your good spelling.
