You should probably take it slow while he is still living with his ex-wife. It would probably be easier on both of your minds.

I'd tell him that when he's free and available and not in a live-in situation with his ex then you'd consider a date but until then .. no way.
P.S. are you sure they're not married? How is he about you coming over to the house?

think about wat ur saying. me an my wife are happily married but are currently separated. i'm a truck driver and she is a traveling hospice nurse. i cant wait to see her this weekend wen we both return home. u have to make the final choice but the kind of separation he is telling u is different from my separation of my wife. don't get hurt falling for that nonsense. there are too many good actually separated men out there waiting for u. that is willing to spend time with one mate and not his so called separated wife whom he is still living with and sleeping with with a partner on the side.

No that is a disaster waiting to happen. If he still lives with his ex wife then why would you want to get messed up in that mess? He is obviously not very independent or he is still in love with her.

He isn't separated until he lives SEPARATELY from his ex=wife. (that's the true meaning of that word...i.e., see the dictionary!
If he's still married, he is not available to date.
