NO family comes first. Does he get to his his mother very often? If he doesn't then you should not even be the slightest mad at him. How would it make you feel if he go mad because you went home to be with family?

Are you close to your mom?
If you are, than I would hope you'd understand,
If not, try to understand that some people need family.
Have you shared your feelings (without nagging or guilt trip)?
Have the two of you been dating long enough that you could possibly attend X-mas with him at his mom's? If yes, maybe you aren't as close as you think or if no, give it till next year.
Do you have friends or family you could be with?
You could enjoy your time alone, watch movies, down a bottle of wine and give yourself a facial & paint your toe nails.
Life won't end if you're alone for x-mas... My mom lives in a different part of the province & always works x-mas, I have felt for years that x-mas is for kids and it's highly over-rated. (christians stole it from pagans and it's now overly commercialized)
Last year my husband and I were supposed to go to his parents, he picked a fight with me Dec. 23, he went, I relaxed, cuddled with the dog on the couch in front of the fireplace & watched movies, cleaned the house and spent some time thinking about our relationship... we seperated shortly after.
This has actually been a really good year.

No. Don't be mad. We all should be around "family" for the holidays. Maybe you two can get together afterwards. That way his mom is happy, and you'll end up happy cuz you'll see him later. And he'll feel great because he made both of you happy.

Yes and no, Yes b/c he blew you off. And no b/c he went to spend the Holiday w/ his mom. Just tell him that he should not make plans w/ you and then blow you off. Tell him how you feel.

Don't get up set...tell him to bring some to you,
and all is forgiven.
Seriously...don't start the your mama thing.
It has ruined many a relationship.
Mama will always win.
If you want this to go the long haul,
pick your fights wisely.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
