I have 2 cats and they both love for me to rub their bellies. I made it a habit when I first got them to rub their bellies and paws so that they would feel safe and comfortable with me. Now when I need to trim their claws they don't freak out like a normal cat because they trust me and they are used to it. The same thing for the belly, if they know they can trust you then they will let you pet them there without getting upset. Just take your time and show your cat that he is safe with you, it may take some time but he will eventually trust you. Good luck!

animals feel vulnerable - best place to harm them is probably the belly. But I managed a pet a stray cat on the belly, in the park last evening. I must have a "cat lover" look ! and I am - I love cats and dogs, most of them trust me even at first meeting. They must totally trust you before you can touch their belly

That's the only time that my cat will attempt to bite me so I avoid touching his tummy. I've been told that touching a cat's tummy is interpreted as an invitation to play and if the cat has a tendency to be aggressive, he will bite in play. This is especially true if he has been declawed.

The closest answer to the truth is that some cats are ticklish. Cats typically enjoy being petted and stroked all over, but the stomach is more sensitive. When the cat grabs you with her paws and bites at your fingers, she's telling you to stop, because it's overstimulating.

My cat loves it and I smash my face in her fluffed up stomache and pet her fur backwards and forwards. She is a very unusual cat though and loves attention. I figured if she didn't like it she would run away when I put her down, but she just keeps following me around the house.

Nope, must be slightly smooth on the tummy only now, although if she replaced into spayed it truly is an actually elimination of the uterus. can not be preggers! some cats do exactly not like their tummies rubbed! I have 3 woman spayed. One digs it, one tolerates it and one hates it. Cats! Gotta love 'em. go away her abdomen on my own for some weeks then examine decrease back including her.

Well my cat enjoys getting his belly rubbed sometimes, and other times he'll attack. I think most of the time he sees it as me wanting to play because when he is in a playful mood he'll attack my hand and try to play with me.
