Jewelry stores on St. Martin Island?

My well connected boss told me that I could buy a diamond from a jewelry store on St. Martin Island for much cheaper than in the continental US. Has anyone done this? What jewelry stores on St. Martin Island have websites? Any other info will help.

Both of my brothers bought their wives their engagement rings in St. Martin. In fact all of my family buys their jewelry there. Much,much cheaper than the U.S. The Dutch side is much cheaper than the French side. There is a web site called ttol.com that has a whole section dedicated to this topic with lots of recommendations.

The women are in heaven with all the jewelry stores in St.Martin. Just take a walk in the town of Marigot on the French side or Phillipsberg on the Dutch side and the Jewels are coming out from everywhere!!! There are tons and tons of Jewelery stores everywhere!! So many diamonds and emeralds and watches are good quality with top brand names such as Rolex watches, Gucci, and so on.......

if you are an American, you will get hit for duty when you return....better to buy in St Thomas United States Virgin Islands where the prices are about the same as St Maarten and WAY below USA. because we are a duty free port while still US ( long story involving buying the islands from Denmark in 1914...)...key in St Thomas to your search engine, or look up Cardow's or Little Switzerland

I don't think they any more or less problems then any of the others around it .... The political system is fairly stable, which helps.
