What do you want to do with your life? Trans if you want to design roads and rails, structural if you want to design buildings and water for pretty much everything. I would have to say Water effects a broad spectrum of other disciplines just look at the stuff they are building in Dubai. And as the cities get more and more crowded the buildings are going to be going up-so... Water-but I like seeing a finished product. Good question.

Specialize in all of them.

Well my preference is obvious... but given just those three I would say water resources.

Structural is REALLY boring unless you like staring at a computer all day and dealing with variations of the same thing (the pay is really good tho..). It makes you yearn for the weekends. (Remember that all Civils are generally licensed to perform some kind of strucural (in Calif. it is up to 6 stories I think)

Structural is not a sub field of Civil it is a speciality.. like brain surgery for an MD. You must first be a Civil to qualify to take the examination for Structural.

Transportation is, indeed, a sub field of Civil. Take that one if you like to plan traffic lights and patterns

Water Resources will, at least, give you a variety of challenges.. something that makes the job fun. and THAT makes the difference between a job and a career.

2 4 a million 3 5 it somewhat is the score in accordance to the jobs I even have seen marketed for. there is often shape and as companies look to decrease expenses, they look first to the managers to ideal time table, oversee, and rfile on shape events. As extra shape and develop occurs, there is extra desire for tansportation. additionally, the interstate merely grew to become 50 years previous a rapid time in the past. when you consider that that element site visitors volumes have extra beneficial than quadrupled. area barriers and demands extra sustainable shape have very much extra beneficial the desire for properly experienced structural engineers. As populatioins improve, they could desire to get clean water and get rid of the "no longer so clean" water. The environmental impacts of runoff and stormwater are additionally warm subject concerns now. each and every thing we do is on the floor. There must be somebody who is conscious the reaction interior the soils for this to happen. in short, any area of civil engineering is in severe call for. there's no shortage of call for, merely qualified people to fill the positions.
