Hey now, let's get a genuine Catholic input on this. As you can see, people disagree with the dogma of the Immaculate Conception because they believe that the Bible says nothing about Mary's conception. Well, it doesn't specifically say, "Mary was conceived free of sin." But the Bible often does not spell things out word for word. When the Archangel Gabriel comes to Mary, he says, "Hail, full of grace." This isn't just a polite greeting; when the messengers of God say something, there is a reason they said those specific words. How can you be "full of grace" when you are or have at any time been tainted with the stain of original sin? Mary isn't just some utility used by God for the sole means of getting His Son a physical body. We know that He loved her, and He elevated her to the highest status among women, and a high status among all mankind. She's the Queen of Heaven and Earth--that's no small title! God loves Mary, His own Mother; out of love for her, and to ensure that His Son would be born into our world from a sinless mother, God spared Mary the mark of original sin.
That doesn't mean that we Catholics say that both Jesus and Mary were perfect. By the very fact that she possesses human nature alone, Mary is not perfect; since she is not God, she is not perfect. But she is the only human other than Jesus to have an uncorrupted nature her entire life. We call Mary immaculate, because she was untouched by sin. But we call Jesus impeccable, because not only was He untouched by sin, but He is simply incapable of sin in any way, shape, or form. This is a much greater boast than any human can achieve, so we clearly don't place Mary on the same peg as God.
But we put her pretty high up--because God put her there for us. She's Queen of the Angels--beings who are so much higher above humans--which signifies that she wasn't just some average human who got lucky by being picked randomly by God.
Happy Feast Day, Patroness of the United States!

Surprisingly, most Protestants have no problem accepting the fact that Adam and Eve were created without sin, even though the Bible does not literally say it, either.
The main reasons people don't accept the dogma of the Immaculate Conception is:
1) They don't understand the theological necessity of it, or how God actually accomplished it;
2) They don't want to be seen accepting beliefs that might appear to be too Catholic.

How could she be conceived without sin as she was a product of the lineage of Adam also? There is far to much emphasis placed on Mary as the term "blessed" means "happy" The Lord appeared to many people in the Bible but he did not appear to Mary. An angel appeared to Mary and told of the coming birth of Jesus. The reason there is very little mention of Mary in the Bible is because the Lord wants' everyones focus on Christ himself. Mary and Joseph has children after the birth of jesus and why wouldn't they have had? they were married and the Bible makes mention of of the brothers of Jesus.

1. There is no scriptural basis for it-but you guys don't believe the Bible do you?
2. If she was conceived without sin that would make her either not human or fathered by God.
3. That would make her God. And that's where you put her, isn't it.
Mariolotry is a sin dude.

Now, I must insist that the Bible is ambiguous on this.
Many people simply can't conceive it.
I don't think the dogma necessarily implies that St. Anne need be immaculately conceived, but rather that her lineage was "refined" by immaculate conception (even theoretically possible) of Mary. This makes sense, and also carries into the reasonable and also Scripturally ambiguous dogma of Mary's impeccability (Holy), which then is makes a lot of sense if one is to indeed conceive God.
Take the whole portion of Romans around 3:23.
It does not make her God, though perhaps ambiguous, like "Queen of Heaven." But not like mediator or God.

LOL. While I am 99.999% with the RCC on virtually all doctrine...I'll tell you why I don't like the concept of the Immaculate Conception:
I know there are some valid theological reasons for it....but it was not believed from the beginning, thereby putting it at odds with the Vincentian Canon ("always, everywhere and by all")
it did not become dogma until 1854. That's a whole lotta time (in church history) without that dogma.
Now - - while I may agree with it - I cannot see condemning someone to hell because they DON'T believe it....because I personally don't see it as a matter of salvation.
Your mileage may vary.

Mary was only a vessel that God chose to work His miracle in. I think alot of people miss that..She was not perfect..she was just like a regular woman, that happened to be pure (a virgin). And who's heart was fixed on God.The one that was without sin, was Jesus Christ (Yeshua) the Son of the Living God.

you're precise lower back! the stainless concept people in case you may take it slow to determine ability that Mary, whose concept replaced into delivered touching directly to the conventional way, replaced into conceived without unique sin or this is stain-that's what "immaculate ability:without stain. The essence of unique sin includes the deprivation of sanctifying grace, and this is stain is a corrupt nature. Mary replaced into preserved from those defects via God's grace; from the 1st instant of her existence she replaced into interior the state of sanctifying grace and replaced into unfastened from the corrupt nature unique sin brings. And their is plenty extra to be taught. look for, and you shall locate. circulate to Catholic questions and solutions and you will locate plenty extra on the challenge. God might desire to of course steer away from devil from entering any touch together with his mom, and he did.

I am protestant, and our Bible does not mention Mary's conception. However, I don't believe that sex between married people is considered a sin... so if her parents were married, Mary was conceived without sin.
