DO not try any pills. Don't mess with your health. Diet pills can affect your heart and do some serious damage.
The moviestar diet is a scam. There is no good diet if it says it is fast. You gain it all back and double. Be wise please.
Go to www.sparkpeople.com
It is a healthy way to lose weight and it is a free site. It's like having your private nutritionist.
You type in how much you want to lose and by when etc...and they plan out your meals so you can achieve your goal. They have a calorie counter and everything. Plus they give you a fitness plan according to what type of exercising you like to do. It is free with support from the members and a real neat site. I'm really impressed.
Enjoy!
God Bless!

If you want to lose it and keep it off then stick with the basics...no fad diets. You must be healthy to start this. A Mediterranean diet is the best way to go - you can probably find the basic ideas online. If not, follow this. Don't assume you need to lose 40 pounds - look up your ideal weight online. Ans if you ar busty, you'll have to weigh a little more to be healthy.
Eat as many veggies, other than corn and potatoes, as you want. No butter, no salt. Limit meat to 2 servings a day, each no bigger than a deck of cards. Eat only whole grain, No white bread. (Limit, but don't cut carbs completely. You'll lose weight, but it will come right back on.)
Absolutely no sugared soda. Limit yourself to one diet soda a day. Drink a minimum of 8 8-oz. glasses of water a day. Drink 3 8-oz glasses of skim milk a day. No fruit juice, only whole fresh fruit - the fiber helps make you feel full.
Walk as much as you can. Take the long way EVERYWHERE! If you can walk 1/2 mile 3 times a week, it will help you body immediately. Increase it by 1/4 every two weeks and add a day a month. Use a treadmill if you have one so you can keep track. Or get a cheap $6 pedometer an walk a minimum of 10,000 steps a day.
This is all you need to do. Change your habits. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Next time you have pizza there eat 1 slice if you need to. But fill up on a salad with it. You'll see a difference in a month.
The first 10 pounds will probably go fast. If you get in a slump and aren't losing, add more exercise to stimulate your metabolish. Eat whatever you want for one, and only one, meal a week. Just don't overeat at that meal!!
Losing weight won't make your life better but it make make you a more confident person because you are in control.

sorry to tell you this hon, but short of cutting off a leg there is no "fast and easy" way to lose 40 pounds. It didn't take you a couple weeks to gain it, and it won't only take a few weeks to get it off. Besides, if it came off all of a sudden it would just draw more attention to it, right? It sounds like you asked this question at a time you were pretty upset, so I hope that by the time you read this you'll have calmed down and are ready to look at the issue logically. You KNOW the right way to lose weight is by diet and exercise. Any other method you might use to lose that much weight in a short amount of time will just create a different problem for you. Like anorexics have terrible skin/hair/immune and nervous systems, bullemics don't really lose much weight and rott their teeth out (regardless of brushing), and an intestinal worm will do the trick but....well you don't want to go there.
I assume you're in school since you live at home? I suggest just discussing it with your mom? Aunt? School nurse? P.E. teacher? anyone you know of that can help you develop a workable plan. You need to eat healthier foods but not cut them out completely - that just leads to overeating later, and get more exercise - try just a liiiitle harder in P.E.? Take a walk every night? Take dance lessons? Do some sit-ups in your room when you wake up. Nobody needs to know it's a diet, just a healthier outlook.
Good luck hon, you're struggling with the same problem as the majority of Americans. Don't be embarassed or shy about asking for help!

First of all, I know that jerk hurt your feelings, but no matter what you look like you are a much better person than he is and you will have a much better life than some friggin *** like that, even if it doesn't seem that way. Secondly, getting thin at all costs is not the answer it is dangerous and you are giving jerks like him too much control over your life. Try to eat healthy and exercise. Find a sport or activity you like. The January issue of Glamour came in the mail today and I usually don't advocate magazine diet plans but this one looks real sensible and doable. Good luck. And take it from a fat broad, there is more to you than your size. I have a very happy, active, fulfilling life.

I know that's a really tough thing. But to start off, I would find out your calorie needs. You can go to http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/caloriesneed.htm
and find out the information there. If you really want to lose weight, I would recommend eating 1000 calories less than your needs every day, so that you will lose around 2 pounds a week. I know you don't want to hear this, but losing anything much more than 2 pounds a week will just cause you to gain it back later on, and possibly more. It's because when you don't eat enough, your body goes into starvation mode and when you start eating more, you body will retain as much food as it can, probably even more than you used to. Make sure you exercise! Exercise doesn't have to be a painful experience that you want to get over with right away. You can feel really good with exercise. Do you have any exercise machines at home? If you can use those, and listen to some music while you're doing them. Are you involved in any sports? Sports are a sure way to get in shape. Do something that you love doing, and remember to have fun. Why can't you let your family and friends know about this? If you're really concerned about being overweight, talk to them about it. They have to understand that losing weight would also be good for you for health reasons. If you can have the courage to say that, see if someone will sign you up for a gym. Walk as much as you can. Also, eat in moderation. I know from past experience, that if you deprive yourself of your favorite foods, you will just end up going on an eating binge. It's best to allow yourself treats from time to time. To lose weight all you need to do is eat sensibly and healthfully. Are there any habits with food you could get rid of? For example, do you drink soda every day? Limit the soda to once a week, and you will see and improvement. Cut back on the sweets and eat more vegetables. Basically, you can eat all the vegetables you want while you're trying to lose weight. You can easily be filled up by 200 calories worth of carrots. My last word, don't let this control you. Don't get so caught up in it that you can't enjoy anything else. Make this a fun experience, (and yes, it is possible) by challenging yourself to meet your goals and don't beat yourself up for not doing the exact thing you wanted to. You will see a difference. I really hope this helps. Good luck!

First of all. Its important to judge your health by how good you look and feel, and not by how much you weigh. Rememebr muscle weighs more than fat. So you're scale may tell you you're making slow progress, when you're actually doing very well. Muscle increaces your resting metabolism level, energy level, and makes (yes women too) look good.
For the love of god, please do not starve yourself. Eat your normal, recommended calorie intake, and stick to healthy, high carbohydrate food. When you eat less, your body goes into 'starvation mode' and you lose energy.
Find your target heart rate and maintain it for 30 minutes. If you're in a hurry, there's nothing wrong with pushing it to 60. Do this every other day. On the off days, do upper body weight training. While your body is building muscle, your resting metabolism goes up. So you'll burn calories while you rest. Cool huh?
Get plenty of fluids. 2-3 litres of water / gatorade. Being dehydrated is like a car without its oil change. You lose energy and feel crappy.

For a week straight, do not eat any food. Just drink liquids, mainly water, but fruit juices will help curve the want to have food. You may have to live with the fact that some people have bigger bones. The not eating for a week will help you lose about 10-20 pounds, when you start eating again, do not stuff yourself, eat slow, you will get full faster.
This is completely not recommended, but, if you must, you must!

First you have to know that boys are jerks.
Ignore them and avoid them.
You cannot lose 40 lbs. fast. At best dieting and exercising you will lose 2 maybe 3 lbs a week.
The key is stopping all junk food and sweets No fast food at all. No sweet cereals.
Eat meat the size of a deck of cards, salads, vegetables, fresh fruits.
Just do one meal at a time, give yourself a
5 lbs goal then move on to the next five lbs.
Good Luck
