Yes, you are being lied to!
This info is a mathematical forgery built to explain the whole "earth is only 6000 years old" theory.
Sorry kid, your book is probably full of scientific inaccuracies designed to explain away historical discrepancies brought about by the bible.

You are talking about Barry Setterfield and c-decay...the idea that the speed of light has been changing throughout time.
His theory is not widely accepted, even within the creationist community.

I knew that the speed of light was thought not to be constant, but 200 billion times faster that it is today would be tough to measure. What book and page number? Are you sure that they actually state that as a fact??

The term "creationist scientist" is an oxymoron.
The speed of light is a constant, it doesn't change.

Given there's no actual proof of it, and it was probably adopted to fit their beliefs and cram them into modern physics some how or another, I'd have to guess, lies.
I'd suggest using it as a door stop, it'll do less damage that way.

Creationists don't read up too much on science.
Study on your own regular science books, learn to conduct your own experiments.

no, and you are reading a very bad book, try the fiction section.
The theory of relativity proves the speed of light is constant.
