Pride is the expression of one's ignorance. A really wise person knows his ignorance which makes him humble. To be proud is not a sin. It is an avoidable conduct because it harms the self. God helps the proud to realize his ignorance by timely lessons. Those who have love for God, they apologize for having felt proud unconsciously or unmindful.

I don't know if any could be called the worst sin again God. But if one said pride, I was would say.
1Cor.8
[2] And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Tim.3
[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Prov.16
[18] Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Prov.8
[13] The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Pride is associated with falling in the Bible. When one is pridefull I would say that it means arrogant. When you think you know it all and have more to say than to hear, that is what God says is wrong. When someone thinks they know, that is when they really don't know. And true wisdom is the understanding that you really don't get it, and always have something more to learn. Well, that is what 1Cor 8 says.
God wants us to always be in search of truth and enlightenment.

To be prideful suggests that a person is better than another. This, in turn, leads to glorifying ourselves and not God. That's why athletes are getting paid so much. Other people are so proud of the "good play" or "wonderful job" that they are doing, they go out and buy jersey's and whatnot insinuating that this person is better than another. Human beings have, since the beginning of time, glorified either themselves or one another. Yet, God does not get this same attention. It just goes back to the saying "put no other God before me."
I don't think this is the worst sin, but I think it could be if taken too far. People create a detachment from God when they glorify another human being or themselves.

Well, I'm not certain I would consider pride the WORST sin against God, but I feel that pride makes us unapproachable. It makes us so filled with ourselves that we have no room inside for anything or anyone else.. especially God and the humility He appreciates in us.

Pride is the root of all sin. Pride says I am going to do what I want regrardless of what God says or the consequences to others. Do a sin checklist and you will see what I mean. You have to have pride to walk outside of Gods will and deliberately disobey. Thats why God hates sin. Why did Satan rebel..... pride that he could be equal to God.......

Because it pits us against God as the ruling authority in our lives.
Isaiah 14:12-15 is a primary example of pride getting the best of someone.

Pride is the arrogance of man that he is the source of his own abilities and successes. Everything we are, could be, and have is from God. Without Him, nothing is possible, not even hope. We owe Him our lives and our souls for loving us enough to send His ONLY begotten Son to save us from sin.

Because it's based in the ignorance of a guilt manifestation
devised to manipulate the beliefs of the masses through fear .
How else could you convince devotion to the superstitious
desires of the illiterate in a memetic structure.Because it's really a sin against mankind!
peace out

If the pride is one which tries to usurp the glory and majesty of God then it is the same act that caused Adam and Eve to rebel against God and disobey Him. This kind of pride still causes disobedience to God in order to attain it.
God says that we have nothing to boast of.....except that we are in Jesus Christ, His Son....and that position is a pure gift of God.
