No, you only receive the wedding band on the wedding day. A wedding set only has two rings: the engagement ring and the wedding ring.

A wedding ring and the wedding band are the same thing; people alternate between the two terms. Perhaps this is what made you think that you might get both a ring and a band. But no, it's all the same thing.

Traditionally you would get a wedding band on your wedding day. I, however, have an engagement ring that I will switch to my right hand and have a separate wedding ring (I don't like the ring/band combo). I hear this is very common in Europe. My engagement ring wasn't very expensive though and doesn't look like a typical engagement ring. That would be crazy to have two expensive rings.

Most likely for you, you are getting a band. But now-a-days you can do whatever you want.

No, definately not. You already have the ring. The wedding ceremony is for exchanging bands.

Are you thinking that your engagement ring isn't part of a set, so you will be getting the whole set at the wedding? If so, you're likely wrong. That is not at all what is traditionally done. And I'm sorry, but your groom probably has no idea you're thinking this. If you're lucky and he's wonderful, he might get you a new set for an important anniversary or Christmas present.

At the wedding you should exchange wedding bands. A wedding band is usually a simpler band, often just a simple gold band, that matches the engagment ring and is meant to be worn as a set after the wedding.

All you'll get is a wedding band. You're lucky you got an engagement ring, though! lol. The way it traditionaly goes though is once he proposes to you, he give you an engagement ring. Then, during your wedding, you will each get a wedding band (make sure you wear your engagement ring on your right hand during this time as the wedding band goes first on your ring finger, than the engagement ring). So, you get two, he gets one. Congratulations!

A matching wedding band would be nice... usually on your 1st anniversary, some women get an anniversary ring. Are your rings a set? If so, you can get a third ring made to make a trio like I did! Congratulations!!!

You should get your wedding band, if you are choosing to wear one. Otherwise you can use your engagement ring during the exchange of ring part of the ceremony.

You should just get a wedding band. Not another ring.

The best man gives the wedding band to the groom. He puts it on your finger and says "With this ring I thee wed."
