A bad way, how is one pain supposed to make another pain go away? It can't, so why deal with 2 pains when you only have to deal with the 1st one? why add to it, doesn't make any sense..."oh gee I hurt, so I'm gonna go hurt myself some more!" Think about how stupid that sounds

Well, it's a bad way. It's not going to solve anything, and it adds more danger to the situation. Sure, it may stop the pain for a few hours, but then what? It actually usually becomes a psychological addiction that you MUST cut in order to feel better. If you are still considering options on how to deal I would try everything else first. If you're having so much trouble coping and need someone to talk to right away go to http://www.hopeline.com and call the hotline. The people there can help you with ways to cope, or just listen, or hook you up with someone who can prescribe you meds, or just about anything. They're there to help you, otherwise they wouldn't have the job they do.

Cutting yourself is a bad way to deal with your pain. The only thing you are doing is killing yourself slowly, so there's no positive coming out of this. I suggest that you talk to a close friend about what you're dealing with. Just talking can make something feel better. Also, a long walk by yourself in the morning may help you come up with a solution. It may surprise you of the things you can think up of while you're alone. You'll learn more about yourself, and how you think of things. But, again, I tell you to NOT cut yourself. Please at least try enjoying your life. =)

Cutting is inflicting the most pain you can. No, yelling at the top of your lungs at the world is better. You must be one of the few that always think its your fault. It ISN'T! The way things work nowdays, everyone is messed up by it. You can even talk about anything that's wrong(this is how you deal with it) and no one blames you, so you certainly shouldn't blame yourself!

cutting can be distracting, but try to find other distractions. Drugs aren't really a good idea either because they can make things worse. Cutting yourself wont make things better or help you in your situation. I suggest you talk to a really close friend or family member or even to a complete stranger (which is sometimes best, but be careful), like the first poster. Life's never been easy for anyone, but it doesn't have to be hardest on you.

I think cutting yourself is a bad thing, for one, you will most likely get a scar, and for two, that scar will be a constant reminder of this terrible time you are going through in your life. Talk to a parent, a close friend, or get some counseling. Don't mutilate yourself OK honey :o)

sweetie, first let me tell you..cutting yourself is definitly not the way to cure pain. if you think about it everyone goes through tough times and stressful days..trust me ive been through so much in my teenage years that you would think it was impossible to not get through it. remember after every storm is a rainbow..sounds a little funny..but its very true..i would say just talk with a good friend and deal with whatever you are dealing with..all the tough times in life make you stronger as a person to know when life hands you these tough days that you can handle it. hurting yourself doesnt get you anywhere. honestly people who hurt themselves are weak in my mind..cause when life gets hard all they know how to do is hurt themselves like its gonna magically make your problems go away. i hope my advice helps you a some way.

Self injury is a cry for help. It is a graphic demonstration that we need attention. If you realize that you are a person who needs support like that, then please don't go to the trouble of hurting yourself. Just get up and call a good therapist. Get on some meds and change your life. I did. And I feel so much better now. You can too! Don't cut....call.

Cutting yourself isn't really going to give you relief, believe me I know what it's like, but by hurting yourself does not help. This may sound corny but what I did when things were overwhelming was kept a diary, you'd be amazed at how much better you can feel if you vent things.

Hurting yourself in any way is never a good idea.
I would talk to a counselor as soon as possible.
Whether at school, church, or your local mental health department. Almost all have a free or reduced cost program if you can't afford it otherwise.
Get in there!
They really can help.
