The philosophy is not that homosexuality is a choice, but acting on those desires is the choice.
People have trials in life. Some get angry easily, some are rude, some are beautiful and others are homosexual. However, this doesn't mean that they abandon the commandments of God and do whatever they feel like, whether they choose those feelings or not.

So, let me get this straight. You're putting us down for "all" believing that being gay is a choice, without any evidence, yet without any evidence, you're going with the "born that way" theory. And that makes you, what? Smarter?

I'm not saying whether I think its a choice or not, just wanted to stress its a pretty ignorant statement, considering how you're calling "all" christians ignorant for the same flamin thing you're doing. I also find it odd that you think all christians think exactly the same way about every issue. Believe it or not, we're not all the same person, and we have individual thoughts and theories about a great many things.

a slightly different view:
I'm a Christian.
I don't think sexuality is a choice. I believe it to be a predisposition that is subtly fostered through in-home experiences, and personal desires.
It becomes a chosen way of life if the person hears the Gospel, and then still chooses to remain in a gay lifestyle.
Paul's Epistles are full of his own testimony of the lives that he had seen changed because of their personal decision to follow Jesus Christ.

One can sense the freedom found in Jesus, but it takes work on our part to apply His teachings daily to our lives.
Waking up one morning and having your sexuality altered would be a miracle. Most will have to work at grasping the freedom Jesus designed us to live in.

A study published in the February issue of the journal Endocrinology demonstrates that not only are certain groups of cells different between genders in a part of the sheep brain controlling sexual behavior, but brain anatomy and hormone production may determine whether adult rams prefer other rams over ewes.......

the scientific evidence is SLOWLY coming but the bottom line is == MOST straight people (religious or not) do not care and are not interested in being enlightened to the facts supporting the genetic link to sexual preferences.

Homosexuality isn't a choice. People are born that way and I don't think any person would choose to be different from their friends or family. I'm straight and if being gay is a choice, then what does that mean? That I can change my straight orientation to gay? I think gays are born gay and they don't choose to be one. I'm a Christian and I've never believed in any of that.

If I had a dollar for every time someone called christians ignorant in here I'd be rich. Message recieved, zero distortion. Anyone who doesn't believe as you do...is "ignorant" no matter what pretense I set up with whatever bias I may have and no matter how much I refuse to look at the evidence with an open mind.

Who cares if it is a disease anyway...some people call alcholism and bulimia and annorhexia a disease too, but who here will say it's ok to indulge that disease and not seek help with it? "ignorant" comment.

That seemingly otherwise intelligent people embrace such non-sensical tripe in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary is disturbing indeed.

It is a choice.
If in history homosexuality was "normal" then they would have been extinct long ago.
Biology 101.
Man + Man or Woman + Woman = No Offspring
Biological fact.
You wanted proof. It is a characteristic that the brain enjoys.
Drinking , smoking, doing drugs, they all have an effect on the pleasure senses in the brain.
If you like it, then you continue. If you don't then you do not.
Maybe you should take a psychology class or two.

Christians believe that homosexuality is a choice. A mislead choice. Environment, circumstances, exposure, uncontrolled passions....have lead people into this lifestyle.

Now, I can't condemn them. They chose it. I am told to love and treat them as a family member. I can pray. I can plead with God. But, my demeanor towards the subject should remain friendly.

Fundies think:
There are no gay people, just straight people who are sinning.
There are no non-Christians, just Christians that being are defiant.
There are no pedophiles, just priests that have had a long day.
There are no gay and crystal meth using Evangelical pastors, just Satan creating conflicts.
Satan also put those fossils there.
