Is Gracie Barra in Encinitas a good school?
are there any good muay thai schools in San Diego? How about a place to crosstrain for MMA?

The best BJJ place in San Diego that i went to personally is the San Diego Fight Club. I went there for a year, and was very impressed at the level of skill there. go to sdfightclub.com. The Manager is Charlie Kohler. Tell him a kid named john sent you.

There a lot of good BJJ schools in San Diego. You should also check out Valente Academy at Rancho Penasquitos (www.valenteacademy.com).
I'm not sure about muay thai schools, but a great MMA school in San Diego is City Boxing in PB (www.cityboxing.com).

I live in San Diego and they are not that far away, if you lived in an area like North Park you would be a short 10 min. drive from both.

I'm from NY and my instructor is a 2nd degree black belt under Gracie Barra. He is a great instructor. All bjj schools are different and my suggestion is to go to a few different schools to determine which one fits your training needs.
