If you were just on an antibiotic, that could do it. I know amoxicilian always does it to me.

Also, sex can do it. Or even if you aren't wearing cotton panties.

I don't suggest the over the counter creams and whatnot; they're messy and might not work.

Call your dr. and tell them you have a yeast infection and they'll call in a prescription (usually) for you to go pick up. Don't wait! The longer you wait, the worse it gets! and it'll get bad, trust me.

I am taking a public health class and I just learned about this information. Yeast infection also known as vaginal candidiasis is cuased by the overgrowth of fungus that occurs naturally in the vagina and accounts for 20-25% of vaginal symptoms. Women often experience intesen vagial itching and a thick cottage-cheese like discharge. You can also get yeast infections if your pants are too tight or if you wear underwear that is not cotton because it is more prone to grow fungus than cotton underwear which absorbs sweat and mucus. To treat it, you can buy over the counter products like vagisil (costs about $7), antibiotic or antifungal medications (taken orally).

Yeast infections are caused by not having enough of the normal bacteria(normal flora). The normal flora protects your body against yeast. Loss of the flora can be caused by antibiotics such as amoxicillin or by douching. You can prevent this by not douching and wearing cotton panties.

You can purchase over the counter anti-yeast creams or you can have your doctor to prescribe diflucan, which is a one dose pill that effectively treats yeast infections.

Pregnancy, the use of oral contraceptives, engaging in vaginal sex after anal sex in an unhygenic manner, and using lubricants with glycerine have been known to be causally related to yeast infections.
Sugar assists the overgrowth of yeast; thus, the increased prevalence of yeast infections in patients with diabetes mellitus, as noted above. In the case of frequent yeast infections, sugar can be looked to as a culprit and should be avoided.

Yeast is caused by an overgrowth of a fungal bacteria. It grows in warn wet places which is why the crotch is such a culprit! You should really go to a pharmacy and get monistat or such. they have generic versions. You can also keep them away by:
wearing breathable cotton underwear, eating yogurt which has the good bacteria to counteract the yeast, or go to a vitamin store where they sell pill forms of the good bacteria. But if you already have one, you need to treat it asap.

moisture. you can prevent them by keeping the place dry. There are creams you can get at drug stores that get rid of it.

Yeast infections are a fungus, much like atlete's foot. The are caused when a place is wet for too long.

it will not alter your cycle in anyway but it can make you more prone to year infections and other kinds of infections as the spermicide can strip away (burn away) the first layer of protecive cells in your genital track. The lube thing is a personal one as well - some people really like it some do not - there are lot of different ones out there to try.

grape fruit seed extract, and yogurt. Avoid bubble baths, douching, scented tampons and pads, spermicides can also aggravate this.

As far as I know it's main cause is wearing really tight jeans and pants. When you wear really tight pants your not letting it get any air. As far as treatment I'm not sure, sry.
