Yes, 30 lbs. is by no means obese. "Weight watchers" can work for the period of enrollment. The problem is "What happens after the enrollment period?" Most people fall back into their old way of life and gain back a substantial amount of the lost weight. The reason being is that "weight watchers" is not a life changing event. What needs to happen is to change your lifestyle in a that will carry through right into your senior years. Using your existing exercise equipment is an excellent start. In order to not get bored you'll need to varry your workout program so it isn't the same day after day. Also, a TV, music, or a friend to workout with helps make the time pass by. A good combination of 3 days heavy cardio & light strength training, with 2 days heavy strength training & light cardio should work best. Stretch before and after all workouts. Eat properly and get plenty of rest. Eventually you may want to add additional exercise equipment to further vary your workouts. Soon you'll be on your way to a life altering journey... If I can be of further service, just let me know!

I have joined weight watchers in the past. I'm not saying that it's a waste of money because different things work for different people. It was not for me ....I did lose weight with it but not as much as I wanted. for me it was a circle I would loose weight and then gain it back. In the end i had gastric bypass surgery Feb of last year and Ihave lost 150 lbs..... The thing about weight watchers is that you pay to join and pay to go to weekly meetings. But good luck in whatever you do.

You might NOT want to join weight watchers if you aren't obese. Try to go to a gym or work out for half an hour to an hour every day. Also don't eat to many carbs or fats. The weight will not go away quickly but it will go away. Also you must set a goal. Saying just around 30 pounds isn't good enough. Set a solid goal that you will reach. Try hard.

Forget weight watchers...waste of your Money and your time.
Unless you have a medical illness, there is no excuse for being 30 pounds over weight.
I see that you are a Colts Fan...so am I a Colts fan. Do you see any running backs that are 30 pounds over weight...I think not.
Start by walking an hour a day....stop all sugar, starches and beer;)...maybe one beer at Game time:) If you don't exercise and stop eating garbage, you will be 40 pounds over weight.
Best of luck to you...I like Foot ball, also.

If you need that kind of support and motivation and if you can afford it, go for it. Personally, I would resent paying them money for something I can easily do myself, but I do understand the motivation of doing something as part of a group.
If you want to give it another try on your own, these sites might help you for free. Best of luck with it.
