I have a friend, her name is Jacky, and she is having terible dificulty losing weight. Jacky has a thick body, huge thighs, hugh rear end like a truck, a large upperbody and broad sholders and thick arms and she finds it hard to exercise. She also eats Reeses pieces (the cups I think) and she spends lots of time on the computer instaed of an exercyse bike.

How can I motivate Jacky to exercyse and to take care of herself and to lose a good 90 to 110 pounds without coming across as being to blunt and demanding to her?

Also, should her computer be taken away so she has more time to exercyse and less time to spend hanging around message forums and Hollywood gossip cites?

Have your friend go to www.sparkpeople.com
It is a healthy way to lose weight.
You type in how much you want to lose and by when etc...and they plan out your meals so you can achieve your goal. They have a calorie counter and everything. Plus they give you a fitness plan according to what type of exercising you like to do. It is free with support from the members and a real neat site. I'm quite impressed.
Enjoy!

God Bless!

First of all don't compare your friend to a truck.

If you care about her health then tell her. Ask her to go for a walk with you. Tell her that she's hurting her body by eating empty calories and being sedentary. She'll have problems in the future that can be avoided if she decides to be healthy and lose some weight. Good luck.

Ask her to do things like ride bikes with you. Or ask if she ever wanted to learn how to dance or do karate, and then convince your parents to enroll you both in a karate class. You can do it togther and it will be a great way for her to lose weight. Also, maybe give her grapes as a present (substitution for snacking on recees cups). And maybe you should tell her parents to take the computer away.

Good luck!

U can be supportive but u cant make her take care of her body if she doesnt want to. Ask her if she wants a workout partner. I have friends i call on the phone and talk to for support when I feel like eating junkfood...but u should talk to her about it first...she might be happy with her weight...find out what wants help with and then go from thier

Why don't you help her instead of trying to control her? Get her out for walks. Regardless of whether you're skinny or not, a walk wouldn't hurt you. It'll give the two of you time to talk and will get her exercising regularly. Either that, or get involved in some type of exercise or dance class together.
