If it were possible to reprogram a person's behavior/worldview, would that be ethical? Should procedures be used on criminals and terrorists? What about delinquents, suicidals, and antisocials? What if people just wanted to improve themselves similar to plastic surgery-make themselves more confident, be a better citizen or better in bed?

short answer no.

but one could theorize that mental "programming" if the person wants it, would be similar to plastic surgery, and thus ok. sorta a whole informed consent sorta deal.

there are hypnosis things that people can use to help them be more confident or things like that. thats not unethical as the fact that the person wants it.

and to jump the gun slightly... no its not evil. its a tool. just like a hammer can be used to build things, or to murder people, it is merely a tool to be used, and can be used for both positive or negative uses.

Only if you wash out the stinking thinking.

Any criminal, terrorists, delinquents, suicidals, antisocials, etc... can have their sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb of God. It only takes recognizing that they are a sinner needing a Savior. Confess Jesus Christ Lord & Savior to God. Believe in their heart Jesus shed His own blood for the remission of their sins too. And He raised up from the dead for their justification.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. When a person gets born of God, the old man is gone and the new man in Christ alive forever more. Our minds are renewed in the Word of God, and we pray antime 24/7 to our heavenly Father. We are anointed in the Spirit of Truth who leads us into all truth and is not a liar.

Well people choosing to become brainwashed and criminals being brainwashed are two totally different ideas. Why not let people that want to get brainwashed get brainwasher. Freewill exists after all. As for criminals being brainwashed humans have no right to kill or brainwash or otherwise harm another human being even though are cruel society thinks we do.

That is an interesting question.and also a tuff one.It seems it could help solve a lot of social ills ,but that needs to be debated a while before any action takes placeWhen you mess with the brain there are problems we may not know about, but it is worth studying

brainwashing isn't good.
They taught children in japan by memorizing their lesson , instead of actually knowing it.(we learned about that last year. i forgot what that was called) It isn;t good to brainwash, and it won't make the particular situation virtuous
