i got a 96 jeep and it has a crazy gas guage and it wont go under half a tank how do i fix it?

My gauge is f'd too. I reset my trip everytime I fill up. Its ghetto but I don't wanna drop the tank anytime soon.

remove the tank and replace the sending unit. but test the sending unit because chrysler is proud of them.
