Is it true if you work out 3 times a week, you will get stronger? Also, what if you only work out twice a week, would you stay the same? What about once a week, get weaker?

To get stronger you have to do more then you currently do. It also depends on the intensity of your workout. If your talking half the time and doing random weight then your not being efficient with your time.

If you work out 3 times a week then you can hit target different muscle groups each time. This way you can focus on a few muscles and work them for a longer period. Example would be- Monday: Chest, Triceps, Quads, Abs
Wednesday: Back, Biceps, Hamstrings
Friday: Glutes, Shoulders, Calves, Abs

If you workout 2 days a week it works to split into 2 groups
Monday: Upper Body, Abs
Thursday: Lower Body, Abs

If you can only make it to the gym one day in the week you should go for a total body workout. Hitting all the major muscles first and then working on to the rest.

To get stronger you have to find your max and work your way towards raising it. Doing high weight and low reps is the best way to gain strength and size. It's important to have an endurance base of low weight and high reps as well. Good luck to you and if you have any questions you can reach me at dcoxmail@yahoo.com

Once a week you will make no real progress, any gains you make after the workout will be lost during an exsessive resting period.Twice a week is best to begin with. Its about building muscle and strenght, the body needs a few days to grow and recover after each workout. Over time your body gets used to the training and recovers faster so then 3 times a week is better. Also if you workout too often like everyday, you only burn calories, you wont give your body a chance to recover grow, so youll not get any bigger or stronger.
