DO NOT CONSIDER BECOMING ANOREXIC!

You need to eat healthier foods like fruits and veggies and (if you eat meat) fish instead of red meat like beef. Also, cut back on processed foods and refined sugars. If you feel a craving for a sweet snack, eat grapes or apples.

Also, cut back on portion size and avoid snacking. Snacking is where most people go wrong. You need to eat a good sized meal (not huge) 3 to 4 times a day without snacks in between. A good size is about half of a resturant meal.

AND, make sure to eat slowly. This is especially important for when you get the weight down. Eating slowly allows your body time to release chemicals that make you feel full. If you eat too quickly, you can eat way more than your body needs.

Also, tips for exercising in an apt complex:
- walk up and down the stairs
- get a jumprope or do jumping jacks/push ups/sit ups
- get a bike
- put some music on and dance

Also, ask your parents to enroll you in karate. It's not very expensive. You'll learn more exercises you can do on your own, you can go as many days a week as you want, and you'll learn how to defend yourself if you're ever attacked.

Overall, remember to eat veggies and exercise more! It's very easy to do a few push-ups in the commercials while watching tv. I used to excerize and stretch for 45 mins a day while I watched tv or listened to music. It barely feels like work then.

First, stop wearing baggy clothes. It only makes you look bigger. Get clothes that flatter your figure. Stay away from horizontal stripes and big prints. Have good posture; always sit up straight. Make sure you have a good bra.

You didn't say how tall you are. A size 20 on a girl 5-9 is going to look different on a girl who's 5 ft.

Ride a bike. Go roller skating. Swimming is good in the summer. I know it is hard. If you don't like those things, ask your parents if you can take up weighlifting. I'm serious. Muscle burns fat. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn.

People can be mean. It doesn't get better when you get older. The good news is you are still growing (taller) and even if you eat the same amount of calories you will be thinner.

My last bit advice is this: Learn to be happy with yourself until you lose the weight. Find something about yourself that you like (do you have a pretty smile? pretty eyes?). You will not become a size 14 overnight. Ask Mom to take you to get your hair and nails done every once in a while. Laugh with the people making fun of you. They keep doing it because (in addition to being jerks) they know it bothers you. When they see that it doesn't bother you anymore, then the teasing will decrease considerably.

I wish you well.

I have been in your exact position, I weighed 215 lbs and was a size 20 about 5 months ago. As lame as it sounds, I joined a diet program and actually lost 23 lbs, and am now down to a size 12.

I tried a lot of things but found my willpower to be lacking when I tried to do things on my own. By joining the program (find the one that's best for you), I was able to stay on target because i had a guide to help me.

I know that it hurts right now what they're saying in school, trust me I went through the same exact thing. Now I look back and it and realize that it helped me become a much stronger person, because when you're my age (i'm 23 now), you'll respect people who are different.

Find different outlets for your sadness, like poetry, writing music, or a club. You need to hang out with different people, people who would respect you for who you are and not what you look like.

When i get angry/stressed, I exercise. This is awesome because it not only gets your anger out, but you are also working off pounds. Go with a friend or family member, that tends to make it more fun.

Do not turn to eating disorders. I never did this and lost the weight safely. You can completely mess up your body by doing things like that.

The best thing to do is go for small goals. Losing 1 to 2 pounds a week is safe, any more than that and it might be dangerous. Also, keep track and weigh yourself every week. Keep a log of what you eat, how much you've exercised (you'll see yourself getting stronger and having more endurance the more you go along), your weight and your measurements.
Having it written down will show you your own progress and give you the motivation to stay with it.

Good luck to you in your endeavors. I completely have faith in you to be able to do it.

Okay, here is how you do it.

First, a diet isn't something you "do" until it's "done." Rather, a "Diet" is what you eat all the time. You and your parents need to learn how to cook and eat foods that fill you up, but don't make you fat.

One of the best ways to do that is to join Weight Watchers. They teach you how to cook and eat in a different way, and therefore they tend to work very well.

The other thing, which you talk about, is exercise. I find it difficult to believe that you can't run or jog or walk where you're at, or ride a bicycle.

To lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF, you need to lose 1-2 pounds a week. To lose 1 pound a week, you either have to raise your exercise level to burn 500 extra calories a day (1 hour doing laps in the pool, 45 minutes running, etc), or cut out 500 calories a day from your diet (one carton of McD's fries), or a combo of both.

You can always email and chat w/ me..... I'm pulling for you!

Tim

PS - diet pills work until you stop, then all the weight comes back. Fad diets, ditto.

I was there as well. Please talk to your parents and go see a doctor for a healthy diet plan. They are not easy, but can help. The first two weeks of any diet is the transition phase where your body thinks you are starving it, but stick to it and after that two weeks, you will find it easier to continue. Cut out the soda and anything made with white flour. Excercise. Good luck!

There's a website that can help you out. It gives you meal plans, and a workout schedule, and it's free. Plus, theres a bunch of other people that you can talk to in forums and help motivate you. It'll be good too, because some of the working out you can do in your living room! Anywho, this will help you feel better physical and mentally, I think you should try it out.
Hope this helps =]

oh my. well, speak with your mum or doctor. i know that's what they all said, but seriously, that's not a great weight for a 12 year old. you can start by eating like a baby. Babies eat when they are hungry, and stop when they are full. Sleep if you have the urge to eat some sweets on the weekends

anorexia as just as bad. check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa

Again... don't be anorexic. Consider your life... do you want to die or would you rather live. Anorexia is a one way ticket to six feet under, hun. Diet, exercise, don't skip meals! Eat lots of fruits and vegetables for nutrition and make sure to include proteins and calcium.
