Antichrist has a capital letter and antichrist does not. Antichrist is talking a the person that will show up in the tribulation period. The word antichrist is used when referring to more than one antichrist. In the book of Revelation the word antichrist or Antichrist is not used but the word beast is used instead of Antichrist. Revelation 17: 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Revelation 13: 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Although I wouldn't classify it as trivia, the Antichrist is the guy everybody is waiting for - the one who is the central figure during the Great Tribulation.

The other antichrist you speak of is simply the spirit of antichrist, and there's obviously plenty of that here in this Q & A. Anyone who does not love Jesus Christ possesses the spirit of antichrist.

And that's the truth.

I believe it was John who said the spirit of the antichrist has been around for a while and there were several people who hhad a portion of his spirit.. anyone who denies Christ has the spirit of the antichrist. But THE antichrist is the one in Revelation who has the full spirit and power of him

The Bible never specifies a singular Antichrist. It does, however, frequently reference "antichrist," which has a general meaning of anyone who is anti-Christ, meaning anyone who does not believe in or preaches contrary to the existence of Jesus the Christ (the son of God, the Messiah, etc.).

I would say "the Antichrist" is Satan himself and antichrist refers to anyone/thing that is against the Savior.
