But we are like best of friends!! He would never do anything to get me or himself in trouble. He respects me. I see him as my future husband even!

Make sure you have your parent's consent to date him. He cannot have sex of any kind with you, or he could be charged with statutory rape. Usually that only happens if the girl's parents press charges, but you should be aware of that.
Best Wishes,
Sue

NO! NO! NO! I am in a relationship with a man who is 4 years older than me. I am 20 now and I started dated him when I was 15. They think that you are a joke. They always think that you don't know anything. They don't respect because they see you as being younger than them. I know it seems wierd because they feel your old enough to date but not old enought to know more than them. I am getting ready to end my relationship because of this. Find someone your age and have fun while you can. But if you do decide to date and you guys get intimate use a condom or some type of birth control so that you won't become pregnant. A baby will slow you completely down and he will still be partying( speaking from EXPERIENCE, so please listen. And if he's going to get in trouble may you guys should just be friends until you can date. I know that you are a beautiful girl so just use your mind and love yourself first then try to love someone else.

No it is not ok....and it's obvious that even though this man is of legal age, he still sooo immature if he thinks it is OK to date a 16 year old girl. It's sad to say....but sometimes the kid can be more mature than the adult. And yes he can go to jail and be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Don't forget....your are just a GIRL....he is already a MAN. Go find a nice boy.

He'd better have serious restraint. Even so, it is not looked upon well by many people. You dont realise how much trouble the guy can get into by saying that he's dating you. Not only could he be put in jail, but the inmates in the jail would tear his *** apart (Literally).

No, it's not okay.
Yes, he can get in a great deal of trouble.
As you two get older, and you're both adults, the age difference won't matter. But for now, he's breaking the law, and can ruin the rest of his life.

No.
Don't do it.
The only reason that a man over 18 would date a 16 year old girl is for perverted reasons (about 97% of men over 18...These are actual stats)

it depends. where i live, 16-year-olds are free to have sex with anyone (older than 18, etc). check the laws where you live.
and i think its fine for you to go out with him (as long as he's not like 40, you know what i mean)
