It is a continuum; it is all evolution. No one can start a new religion. It will all happen as a part of the nature's scheme. Truth is not authored by man; it is pre-existing man the creature, not the Creator. Nature is eternally evolving. Faith is the expression of human understanding of the Nature. Hence, faith is also evolving.

Well, ask the born-again christians. They started gaining strength within the last 30 years. they can be considered a new religion because they have taken from long-standing religions and reinterpreted them to suit their own needs. Note that all religions are based on previously existing religions. Christianity (in its original meaning), and Judeism were. Islam is the only religion that I know of that actually gives credit to their predecessors.

There are enough 'religions' in the world as it is...

Unfortunately yes; generally they see something in God's word that their uncomfortable with and they stupidly go off and make thier own Bible that suites them. and unfortunately they might get a few peopl pee-brained enough to believe their false Bible.
