any brunettes who have died their hair blonde, is it true that it is ruined afterward? does it not hold dark hair dye then?

If that's your natural skin tone, blonde would be too light for you. Try hilights first, see how you like that. If you do, then try a lighter shade, like light brown with hilights. However, I don't suggest Scandinavian blonde 'cause it's way too light for your tan skin. Only a few people can go that light.

Btw, you're hair is beautiful. :^)

You look really great with the colour you have now. The dark shade suits your skintone and brows well.

Still, if you wanna go lighter, try some highlights! It will blend in with your natural colour, and you'll get to see whether you like the lighter look.

Since you have to use bleach to go from brown to blonde, it does damage your hair. The hair of some can tolerate that, other's gets ruined. And than I mean the hair itself.
You should invest in some really good conditioner and treatments if you want to do this. And if you go all blonde, it's not that huge problem going back, though it can be difficult finding exactly the right shade. You just have to give the hair some time first before you dye it again. Go see a proffesional, even just for conseltation, they have tried this many, many times and knows what works on which hairtype.

You look good brunette! If I was you and wanted some change, I'd try some blonde/golden highlights. Then see how that looks and how other people react to that. If that works, then try some more highlights. Dying your hair color should take more than one visit anyways, so trying highlights wouldnt be that much more work.
Going blonde will damage your hair big time. So if you want to do that, make sure your hair is in awesome condition now. Once you go blonde it is really hard to have your hair hold dark brown. You can die it with permanent color but that'll most likely fade away and you'll keep having to die it. You can get your natural hair color back afterwards, but your hair will be in horrible condition mostly likely and it wont be permanent. Plus, it winter (unless your in a diff. hemisphere...)and most people go darker during winter. You color is "in" now.

I went from brunette to blonde......The thing to remember is that when going to blonde the key is to bleach or lighten hair first THEN apply the blonde dye (otherwise it will go orange). It doesn't ruin your hair except for making it dry because of the bleach but condition it well and it should be okay. The only thing difficult with the whole process is that your eyebrows will be darker, as not many people dye their eyebrows. When re-dying back to brunette it may take a couple applications because you did bleach your hair.

I say go for it and have fun, I did!

my natural colour is dark brown and this past summer I went bleach blonde. It took me a little bit to get used to it, but I really started to like it along with some friends of mine. I still have blonde hair and it is not damaged and the texture is still fine. I think it would look find on you because it seems like you have dark skin. A couple of things to be aware of though: when your roots grow back it is very obvious so depending on how fast your hair grows back you have to constantly be dying it. ( I think I had to do mine about every month to month and a half). Secondly, if you do continue to dye it, only dye the roots because if you continue to put bleach on already dyed hair, it can break off or fall out.

Well, try whatever you want! That's one of the great things about being a woman, you can try and experiment with different looks. Maybe you should try just blonde streaks/highlights first, and if you're comfortable with that, go all blonde.
As a guy, I *do* prefer brunettes, but I do think that people's expectations for women vary based on their hair color! "blondes have more fun", blonde jokes, etc., etc.
but, heck, you only live once and you should try it! It's not permanent, you can always go back.

Keep it brunette. People who bleach their hair with a lot of harsh chemicals have to maintain their hair all the time waiting for dark roots to appear. If you want to dye it differently or change to another brand your hair could change to reddish color or another odd color. To avoid that problem you then have to avoid hair treatments for at least a full year and sometimes longer. Its just not worth it.

Well.. for me.( i have dark brown hair too) I tried going a little blonde but it made me look fake so i died it back. If you dye you hair blonde and dont like it you can dye it back, but you will damage you hair a lot! and If you have pretty hair then try not to risk it. Becuase it might be damged for awhile..

Don't do blonde. You have really pretty dark hair and that is so appealing these days when every other girl you see dyes her hair blonde. Also, in your pic it looks like you have olive or darker skin, and blonde hair would not look good with your skin tone.
